Slowly learning and taking it easy

Hello all.

Ive been having fun learning the basics of the game (like allocating a key to disengage Supercruise :) and how to scan systems to make money (a big thanks to the Scot who made the Youtube video).

Ive been taking it nice and slow partly because of the talk of a wipe and mainly because Im awaiting delivery of a TM Hotas X and an EDtracker so I dont want to develop any muscle memory. So Im just plodding about enjoying the scenery. One thing I am currently holding back on is visiting an asteroid field - I definately want my stick and tracker for that bit of immersion.

Once my shinies arrive I'll practice in Gamma and when the game goes Ill jump in with both feet and let the good times roll.

One question I do have now is - is there a way of jumping into a system and be near a station? Currently when I jump into a system I end up almost flying into the star.

Many thanks

Jumping into a system uses the object with the largest mass - so nope :)

Personally as soon as I jump into a system the throttle goes to full stop. It also stops me frying myself when making a bad (read too fast) attempt to fuel scoop in SC.

Possibly the wonderful Scott Manley or Kerbal Space Program and now Elite fame!

I don't think so. Slow down, turn away from the star (or stop) and when flyign away from it pick your station for frameshift.
