I do get it, but I don't share the sentiment, is all. If people want to buy it as a keepsake to commemorate the game it's their choice and fine with me. No need to be condescending, buddy.

No, it's a waste of money. You're paying an extra 10 for a disc you don't need, a guide you don't need and a box.. you see where I'm going with this?

Not to bring the issue back, but I'd have been very happy to get a boxed edition if there was an offline mode, meaning the box actually contained the game. Right now the box would likely contain the launcher, or maybe even just a code to download the latest version of the launcher. Owning a boxed game for me means owning a copy of the game, which is not the case here, so no thanks...

seriously some people think it is about owning a disc, even games that come with discs tend to get you to download the game via steam or origin anyway. The boxed set is about the goodies that get packed with it not the disc!

And YES defo boxed set, ordered already!

What goodies? The only thing included beside the disc is the starter guide.

Condescending : "having or showing an attitude of patronizing superiority"
Nothing to do with berating you or being superior to you, I stated a fact "buddy".

Just bought the boxed upgrade and a few skins too.
Worth the price just for the time saved having to download the full image any time I reformat my PC.
Also a printed manual, hope is similar in size to the frontier one.

The talk on facebook is that its just a quickstart going over just the very basics like key bindings and flight controls and nothing like the extensive manuals that either Frontier Elite2 and First Encounters had. Some clarification from the developers about this would be nice.

I would if there would be "proper" quality user guide in it like in the "good old times" not like the recent releases with the 2-3 page installation guide with the system requirements the official web page url and "how to choose path to c:\programfiles\xxx" and press ok and some other advert cards in it. I know pdf manuals can be downloaded from the internet but I would only buy boxed games again if it would have some content. There are some boxed game still with contents in it but now they called collectors edition for double price . :/

edit: Anyone knows what's in the box? Only the disc and some small user guide or there is more?

If they had added the Pin or an My other Car is a Cobra Mk. III Sticker or a really good Handbook or something i would eventually buy it.
But 15€ only for the Box and a useless DVD with an 1,5 MB Installer on it? No thanks.
