Way back in 1984 Acornsoft first published a ground breaking game for the BBC Micro called 'Elite'. It was also the year Virgin Atlantic was founded.

Virgin have celebrated with a striking TV ad. What are Frontier going to do to celebrate the anniversary?

There is a David Braben tribute event that BAFTA are holding on the 14th Sept.

14th September 2009 at the BAFTA headquarters in London, and will chart David's career as the release of the ground-breaking 3D space trading / combat game Elite reaches its 25th Anniversary.

I'm given to understand that they have a thing for funny hats... Maybe there is a new funny hat that they will reveal...?

Unfortunately I am not sure a new funny hat will cut it.

It was actually September 1984 the Elite was launched and surely Frontier can run to more than a speech by DB at the BAFTA awards?

They could get soneone in the art dept to knock up a pic by the end of the month.

For a wallpaper, I would like to put my order in for 1920x1200 size. That is my current resolution on my 24" monitor. Thank you.

BTW... make sure Elite IV can handle that resolution as well.

Some of us have a tradition of wearing hats on milestone days, I have just purchased myself a special hat for this very occasion. It's not Elite related though
