Hi,

Just picked up a Cobra, managed to kit it out with a good FSD,Power distributor etc.. Am now looking for some 32T racks within 50/60LY of SOL (May travel further if it's not too far :)

Picked up my Cobra in Groombridge, lot's of nice upgrades there (except racks) Also, on my travels I found ETA CASSIOPEIAE is good for high end stuff, found Class A thrusters and FSD for my Cobra (John F Kennedy station). And an Orca for sale at Mathews city in Groombridge.

Really need these 32T racks, have found a great trade route out of SOL.

EDIT - Groombridge is the perfect place to buy and kit out a Viper. It's a one stop shop,

Basically, you want Industrial systems for cargo racks. The higher the population, the larger the available racks :)

Thanks guy's, that was quick :) Will check out distances and set a course. BTW, I got my hauler up to 30+LY jump range, I had to sell it to pay for the Cobra's FSD. That hauler is a great little ship, will defintely keep one as a long range shuttle once the game fully releases.

I think so? I had one in Beta 3. Can you get 16T racks? I had an ASP in Beta 3, that took 64T racks, I would have thought the cobra could handle 32T

EDIT - Maybe you're right, from memory Max cargo on the Cobra was around 60T, so it must be 16T racks that I need, coupled with some 4T racks

Most I've had in my Cobra was 60T with 3x16T and 3x4T
No shields wasn't a problem (despite the occasional rough landing) but I *really* regret selling the Basic Discovery scanner!

As I recall it works like this, basically every size slot doubles the size of what cargo holds can be fitted, ie:

Size slot -> size cargo
1 -> 2 tons
2 -> 4 tons
3 -> 8 tons
4 -> 16 tons
5 -> 32 tons
6 -> 64 tons

As it only has size 4 slots, i guess you are limited to 16 tons.

with 3x size 2 and 3x size 4 it means, if you use all slots (so wave goodbye to shields) you can fit 3*16 + 3*4 = 60 Tons - that matches what is written on the wiki.

Thanks everyone, yeah this Cobra is purely a freighter so no shields. 60T will make 18000c for a round trip from SOL - SAKTSAK - SOL

Haha yeah, it was around 33LY, I also keep the tank around 25% to save weight. Same deal with the Cobra, 16T of fuel :/ you only need about a quarter tank for most trade runs. I bought the Hauler FSD from 70 VIRGINIS
