X52 Pro on order

Howdy Commanders,
Been using the Thrustmaster Hotas, very nice bit of equipment it is to (for the money), unfortunately had a little accident with a glass of red wine and now my joystick no longer wants to pitch up or roll to the right :(
However this does give me a perfect excuse to dust off the credit card and get into the Christmas sprit of spending a lot more on a joystick than I would have wanted around this time of year.
Couldn't bring myself to spend over three hundred pounds on the Warthog, even thou I really wanted todo, I went for X52 pro.
From what I've read on these forums seems very popular :eek:
Have noticed the prices of joysticks and Hotas since ED and SC have been announced the prices have increased around 40% on some popular sites :mad:
Off to practice with keyboard and mouse :S

I got a Logitech controller I use for Metro Last Light.
I couldn't possible use it to fly in ED, it's not the way I roll :)

I simply couldn't resist, just bought one as well. Will be much better than my rubbish 20 year old joystick.

The stick is on a PS2 flylead from the throttle unit and the throttle unit connects to the PC via USB... so the throttle does need to be plugged in, but can be left unused if you wish.

You can get PS2 M to M leads up to 10m so you can tuck the throttle unit somewhere out of the way.

I have an older version of the Logitech pro flight which I've never used because it has a horrible stiff self-centering making gentle adjustment impossible.

Does the x 52 pro have a self-centering and if so how stiff?

I am sure you can service the Thrustmaster it's not a cheap purchase, so they must have spares you can buy, or an address you can send it to for service. Not sure if I am correct in this assumption but the design hasn't changed much over the years, so to me this would mean they have parts available.

I always find a nice email to their support describing your predicament, praising their product usually gets a favourable response!

My X52 Pro arrived yesterday from Amazon 126 great British pounds, but the wife won't let me have it till farther Xmas has been ;(

I did manage to get it out the box and have a look at it when she was out but she won't budge on letting me have it now, she doesn't understand that I have a whole galaxy to explore and so little time to do it :p
