Rename yourself?

I couldn't find anything about it, but how do you rename your commander?
Do I have to wipe it?

It's just I was waiting for a wipe to see if I could nab a good name - now there is no wipe, I thought I'd see if any good ones haven't been thought of yet.

And also if I rename myself and it accepts, will I be able to rename back to what I had before?

Wait. Is there definitely no more wipe before release? When has this been announced?

At the moment you have to clear your save to get the rename option.

Don't forget if you have a reserved name, I am 99% sure that if you change it, you lose any rights to it and cannot get it back if someone else takes it.

Methinks I'll stay as I am, I doubt any of the good sci-fi names are free :)
