So, after the no wipe was announce i was kind of like "oh, right... erm... hadn't expected that, what to do next?" You see, i was expecting to be back in the freagle and having to do missions and then head off exploring again.
Well, i'd just got a Cobra, and had upgraded a bit, so decided to have a fly around Sol and nearby systems because i hadn't seen them so far. And hit the motherlode of upgrades in a system near Sol - Aquillis something i think or something. Anyway, i was like woo hoo, and blew all my cash.
Darnation i though, now i have no money for insurance. Better do something about that quickly. Checked the Bulletin board. What the hell!? All missions really poor payouts. Hmm.. i remember getting better. Scrolls down. Ah! Of course, no reputation around here.
So, i head off back to Chemaku where i started and yes, there we go, Friendly factions with better missions. Nice! So now i'm going to be doing a few missions to get some credits in before i head off on my next exploration. However, unlike previous times, this time ill go armed, because ill have a stab at those who interdict me now. This isn't a little Hauler, this is a Cobra, and i'm going to put the baby to work (well, as long as i'm not too far from systems with stations... when i get further out, then ill not risk it).
Anyway, on to the questions.
While heading over to Chemaku, was interdicted a few times, and ill relate my experiences and add questions at the end.
1) Interdicted by a sidewinder. LOL. Took care of him. No problems.
2) Interdicted by an Eagle... who ripped through my shields. Ouch! What the heck!? Run away! Brave brave Sir Agony Aunt.
3) Interdicted by an Asp, who appeared to be shooting at me with a flashlight, because it was barely scratching my shields. Nice... ill have you! Got him down to 50% hull when the cavalry arrived. Darn it all! Then remembered about crimes being reported. So switched that option off, thinking next time, the kill is mine!
4) Interdicted by a Sidewinder. LOL part 2. As soon as i attack him (not first shot!) i get a bounty against me! Wait? What? That didn't happen before. Then i'm thinking... is this because i've turned off crimes reporting? Anyway, kill him and get a bounty.
So, questions really now.
1) If you turn off crimes reporting, does this mean you can be considered the aggressor, even if you didn't start shooting first?
2) Does a kill warrant scanner protect you from being unfairly penalized if you use it on targets before firing?
3) Side question... i got a fine for entering a station without requesting permission. I docked, paid it off, but its still showing in my comms list and there was no option to pay it off a second time. Was in same station where i picked up the fine. In 16 hours or so it expires.... does this mean i'm going to be considered hostile for not paying it off? Raise a ticket you think? Wait and see what happens perhaps?
