basicpaul by his own admission is "new" here on his previous post, and trying to highlight paying more money for something. seems you just like to BAIT

I find it funny how critical some are of the trailer, when you look at ANY trailer for games they are over the top, and rarely ever represent actual gameplay.

Well, yes, it's not the problem of *just* this game. Mind you, I'm totally fine with trailers that are, uh, dramatized, but there's a space between "totally obviously a cut-scene" (like the opening here) and "people might think it's actually like that" (the dog fights), and it's the difference between "being cool" and "being misleading".

And the video is funny. If anything, the trailer is a bit annoying (while funny, unintentionally), b/c this game really doesn't need misrepresentation. It's not Top Gun In Space, doesn't need to be.

I really dont know why people have to jump to the conclusion that everybody on the internet is a troll, or baiting or whatever..

I didn't even make the video, I just copped for posting it here because the guy who made it couldn't be bothered.
A group of us that play together thought it was funny and warranted posting.

Its getting a fair bit of attention, and rightly so. currently sitting above the actual trailer on the sub reddit. (who knows how long for).

The question asked was in part because I genuinely want to know if any price points have been discussed, but also because I had to increase my post count to post a link.

Honestly, I've seen no real reason for me to join in the forums as of yet, because I've not been able to play the game having only pre-ordered it.

It's pretty annoying all this coordinated group movement was essential to the trailer video, and yet those kinds of group mechanics still don't exist in the actual game yet. It's not like they're any less essential when friends are attempting to play the game together.

Overall, a disappointing trailer.

Prank deserved if you ask me, and FD had it coming : the previous trailers were much better, this one was clearly an insult to the viewers intelligence. Nice vid.

Up until the combat scenes I thought mmm fair comment but then it compared a supercruise flight to the combat in the trailer which seems to be deliberately giving another opposite false picture. At least compare it to a warzone or USS. I like a good side swipe criticism but this feels more attack than joke, especially with the 'hey join us on Reddit' which also seems to hint at come and slag off ED...At least to me...

Exactly, and I do feel a bit insulted. FD asked for backlash on this. Sad thing is they could have put together a trailer with all gameplay video and made it cool. Just another in the list of recent disappointments.

As much as I disagree with this I did find it freakin funny, had a grin on my face the whole way though lol.
The elite trailer is awesome however.

If you want to do a video such as this, at least make it funny. Because hey most gamers know there is a big difference between trailer and game play and it been that case for decades. In fact I think it has improve substantially in the last few years. An Elite Dangerous is far from the worst, if you want to see the worst look at EVE promotional trailer and then play the game.

People do not seem to understand how marketing works.

The actual game footage is more interesting and immersive than than the trailer.
