Sorry if its been covered, I had a bit of a look and couldn't find anything, but has it been announced what hardware/os (pc) the game will require to run?

That is a big NO, sorry. Check the Hardware Forum for more posts considering what hardware to buy and when. But nothing official from Frontier Developments at this time.

Nothing yet, I'd assume that an announcment will be made later in the year or even beginning 2014.

Not posted, but Frontier have made comments several times to the effect of "present day DX11 capable PC" so something that can run a present day game relatively well should be fine.

This has come up a few times in responses they have posted to comments in the KS page and I think a couple of times in their video updates.
