image constantly slightly jumping up and down

So I've been having this extremely annoying issue for a while now. No matter what I do, ED on my DK2 will look like it's jumping up and down slightly all time time. It's not the sideways judder that you get from low frame rate, and it's not the normal tearing from having no vsync, it's just that the entire image seems to rapidly jump slightly up, then down, creating some slight ghost images (easily seen by trying to read text, or view any of the UI/HUD elements) and making me feel like everything is shaking all the time. Needless to say it's annoying and distracting. And this happens everywhere in the game, even in the menus.

I've tried to get rid of the effect for a while now and it's just stubbornly there no matter what I do.

- I'm running at a constant 75fps (or over without vsync)
- I've tried forcing vsync / triple buffering from the nvidia panel, and tried without it
- I've tried with overclocks and without overclocks
- I've tried pausing the OR service
- I've updated all my OR related software and firmware to the latest version
- I'm only running a single GPU
- I've tried to tweak core parking to stop any CPU related stutters
- I've tried OCing my 5960X to 4.5ghz+, as well tried it at stock
- I've tried disabling hyperthreading
- I've tried running the DK2 as my main monitor
- I've tried disabling aero
- And lots of other stuff that I can't even remember...

Is anyone else experiencing something similar? Any ideas what might be causing this and what might help with getting rid of it? :(

Distance of camera to HMD? It's not mentioned and Oculus state that it should ideally be 5'. Dunno anybody with 4' longs arms. Thats what I calculated it would take for me to maintain that gap.

This is actually something that I haven't tried changing yet, so thanks for the suggestion.

The camera is sitting on top of my monitor which is probably slightly over 1m away from me while I'm gaming. The thing is that it works perfectly fine with every oculus game / app I've tried so far. If this was the issue then ED would be the only game suffering from it, which sounds somewhat weird.

Right now I'm reinstalling ED to see if that would help...

I have noticed the camera is *really* sensitive to light reflecting off it.. if you are in a room with lights or a window in front of you, the camera cannot see the infrared dots that light up when you are using the rift, so it can not predict where you are fore/aft/side to side/ up/down.

I moved my camera from the top of my screen to below it and it has helped, as well as shutting window blinds

Okay so after a couple of extra hours of trying I figured I'd plug in the extra power brick/cord that you get with the DK2. And that seems to have solved the issue, even though you shouldn't need the extra power as long as you're not using the extra USB port on the headset...

But yeah, thanks anyway guys!

Yeah was gonna say I had this issue and plugging it into a powered USB hub fixed it.. that or plug in the supplied power brick.
