Congrats guys. One of the few software teams to actually launch when they say they will.
Really enjoyed beta / gamma and now looking forward to the ever expanding content.

Thirty years on, I can still remember the excitement I felt when I first saw Elite running on my BBC Micro. In the intervening years I've not played many computer games but never forgot those heady days of late '84 and '85. Thank you to David and the whole team for keeping the dream alive and today, making it real. Enjoy the plaudits, you all deserve it. Playing the Beta and seeing the game develop has been amazing.

Thanks again and see you all 'out there'.

A very happy Cmdr Maclaren

It's been an amazing trip, from Beta to launch day. By far the most impressive pre-release beta cycle I've ever participated in! I'm absolutely thrilled by what the future is going to bring on for Elite!

totally loving this, just one question. is there a way to remove version number from bottom left of screen? thanks again guys, childhood memories brought bang up to date :)

Bravo

Congratulations to the development team. I hope you have an opportunity soon to celebrate your hard work and success in launching an excellent, complex product.

Agreed. It was an unusual method of bringing a game to launch but it worked surprisingly well. Congrats to everyone at Frontier. It is the game we have been waiting for.

I would like to add my heartfelt congratulations to the team at Frontier Developments for their exceptional work thus far! I look forward to playing and enjoying Elite: Dangerous as it continues its journey and development far into the future. Right on, commanders!

A 30 year legacy, and more than 2 years of development, and we're thrilled to announce that Elite: Dangerous 1.00 is out now, available for download and play.

To everyone at Frontier, thank you.. you have made this 43 year old man a very happy person indeed.

Elite on BBC B's was my childhood and it followed me as I grew Up. I've played every Elite that there was, and this is the best.

This year has been a terrible one for me from a personal point of view, my eldest daughter died in March this year after committing suicide. I've not smiled very much since.. today I am beaming from ear to ear.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Congratulations to Frontier for this adventure which started with the kickstarter. With the planetary landings in the future, FE2 will reborn from its own ashes

A 13 y/o boy from the eighties is thanking you guys, and this boy is me, playing Elite Dangerous right now !
Keep up the good work, you're making the game I wished for all my life. :)

It's been a surprisingly efficient development since I backed this back in the Kickstarter.

Huge congratulations to Frontier Developments. Especially David Braben OBE, Michael Brooks, Sandro Sammarco and all the other excellent hard-working developers whose names will be read in the credits.

Special congrats to Jim Croft and Jose Castro for a truly marvelous sound design.

Thank you so much for this game. I played the original back in 1984 on my BBC Micro Compact computer (with the new 3 1/2 inch floppy drive!). I have enjoyed the Beta and Gamma phases and I am looking forward to exploring the galaxy.

Well done FD team.

Now its time to drink !

Here's to the:
Retro-commanders, old star wanderers
Pixel warriors and joystick harriers
8-bit players, up-late-stayers
Banging the keys on their Beebs and Acorns
And C64s until the early morns
Raster burn, quick flip-turn
Zapping that zapping pirate before it zaps you
Scooping its cargo as an extra coup
From Lave to Leesti to Diso to Zaonce
Trading hard and shifting tonnes
Never outflown, outgunned or beat
Because you are hard core ELITE
.
Elite Dangerous: it's not a game. It's a state of mind.

Well it's a long and frustrating trip of crashes and bugs and so on, but congratulations on a game that's still so absorbing and enjoyable despite all that. Nothing but improvements to come now :)
