Newcomer / Intro Cant belive i have Paid 40€ for this...

Hello all,

i realy wanted to Play this game since i have seen the some Trailer this summer, but now after playing it for 2-3 hours i only Thing omg. The Space feals so empty, Docking at Stations is horrible some platforms dont work and even if i land there is no Station menu, miss things like an Autopilot or Autolanding. Getting Close to Locations (with cruise Speed) is a nightmare, when i Switch from curise to normal it often Shows that im to far and i Need 1 year or several days to reach the Point with normal Speed, when i Switch Back to cruise i overfly the Point because it curise Speed he was only 1 o. 2 seconds away. I realy wish there was an Autopilot for this witch flys you with cruise Speed to the Point and autom. Switch to normal Speed once you reachd it.

Or next Thing the Missions, i tried a kill Mission, i got to the System where i Need to go, it sayed there where 2 piratses but i had no marker with enemys on the map, i saw planets, friendly ships and so on but no enemys, i search for 15 minutes but i had realy no idea what i should do, that was realy frustraing. Or other Thing, why i allways land nearly in the sun when i fall of from Hyperspace this happend nearly every time, is it so hard to say the game that you should fall off a bit far away in save distance and not right in front of the sun?

I have search for something like autofire or Focus when fighting other ships because im not the best with aiming but i dint find it, i wish they had something like in starpoint gemini 2 where you can lock on the target and the guns Auto follow and hit the target when you fire them. Also i have searched for something like turrets (because i love turrets in space games) but it seemed that there is nothing like turrets witch you can Mound on ship and fire on the nearest enemy in 360°

Im realy realy dissapointed, hopped for something like X-rebirth with bigger Space and better gameplay and so on but this... i dont know will try it later again, hope there is something like a refund.

You MUST target the point you want to exit out of supercruise. Target it, then your ship will auto adjust your momentum accordingly. You will the always exit around 8 km from the station etc.

If you wanted x-rebirth but bigger and better you should have bought one of the older X games!

This is elite..

This isn't for real right?

Watch the official tutorials on the FDEV youtube channel. No Mission pointers showing you which ships to kill. It's a sandbox, use your thinking appendage. A mission will say 'kill pirates it XYZ system'. Go to said system and look for pirates. Check out the nav points. Super cruise issues are a non issue, learn to fly in super cruise properly, watch the tutorial video on that, it explains everything. And as for turreted or gimballed weapons, they're in the game.

There is an autodocking computer which you can buy for your ship in Outfitting. I don't like it personally, as it takes way too freaking long to dock with it.

Don't use full throttle while you're in supercruise when you get close to the station. There are also manuevers you can do to slow your speed. The minimum supercruise speed is 30km/s; which is, very slow. It sounds like you didn't do the tutorials.

This is by design. I personally don't mind it. I hope the missions are still being sorted out. There were alot of complaints about them during beta and gamma as well. Since they're not resolved, I can only presume it is by design to try to [yay for forum nannies - grow up Frontier, you're making a "mature" game but don't allow "mature language? Not even cursing here..] off the players. W/e.. I like trading/exploring.

I have search for something like autofire or Focus when fighting other ships because im not the best with aiming but i dint find it, i wish they had something like in starpoint gemini 2 where you can lock on the target and the guns Auto follow and hit the target when you fire them. So you want easy mode then... go away. Or use gimballed cannons, or turrets.

Im realy realy dissapointed, hopped for something like X-rebirth with bigger Space and better gameplay and so on but this... i dont know will try it later again, hope there is something like a refund.

I wanted a 1st person / VR friendly EvE-Online.. but it's Elite Dangerous, not eve-online. Oh, and there are no such things as refunds on software.

Hi -

I've been playing since early Beta, and I can understand your frustration. It's hard to get started. I'd suggest you spend some time in the tutorials getting the hang of flying, docking, aiming etc. You'll find it comes quite quickly, and there's a real sense of achievement.

Docking computers are available but you'll need to play a while to be able to afford one.

In choosing a kill mission straight off you chose a tricky way to start. I'd suggest start out with some exploring or some simple haulage missions until your confident with the flight mechanics, docking etc. Give that a few hours of game time, get used to the game a bit, then try out some combat when you've improved your aim etc.

Supercruise - similar - just takes a bit of practice - keep the throttle in the blue area and you'll be fine. If you overshoot. just turn around!

Don't get demoralised - there is a learning curve, but it's worth it!

Well you're in luck because the teladi outpost DLC is free for rebirth owners. :D

Can't help you on your first two paragraphs besides the fact that you can't assume everything is done for you.

As for the last paragraph, "autofire" weapons and turrets exist in the game for virtually all variations of the weapons except for the big guns like rails and PAs. They are called gimble and turrets.

Or ignorant new player, the only thing he is guilty of is not looking up info or reading forums before purchasing something.

I bought this motorbike and it doesn't have 4 wheels OR A ROOF! I want a refund as this is completely the opposite of what I thought I was buying.
Yep seems like a good way to live your life.

Constant surprise just like the double take brothers!

And from what i did read it was promised to be bigger and better than all of them. There are serious flaws in the current game design and a basic autopilot wouldnt be that bad. I managed to crash two times now into a star because the standard dropout vector after a system jump is set on a collision course. Every halfways sane person would put some kind of failsafe into this system to prevent this in RL.

Good advice - I'd also recommend playing the training missions and watching the tutorial videos linked in game.

Hi.
I'm assuming you're new to the game.
It's a good game but difficult to learn if all at once, I've done it bit by bit.
May I suggest youtube videos etc and plenty of time reading forum posts.
There's a pdf manual that will help too.

Learn to fly and land.
Don't do kill missions until you're good.
Do the little transport ones, get some cash and learn to fly/land.
I'm going to do a reset once I'm installed and I'm going to do transport missions first.

(I've been a player since alpha2)
Keep with it, it's very good, poorly documented perhaps, but a great game

I think he might have missed that, didn't you have to add it to your account before Sunday?

X3:TC was fantastic and X3:AP ended up really good too. I need to give Rebirth another shot now though.

Just hang in there Bonebreaker. Its a quite difficult game to master. Try stuff and do mistakes and learn from them.
Iam to lazy to write a tutorial for you but you are doing a lot of mistakes. But when you get a hang of it you will not stop playing :)
