You realise that during your current session you have missed three meals ... and two days of work
or driving round & round a roundabout, waiting for "Fuel scoop activated".
Looking at the bottom of my windscreen for a version number.
The first thing I thought of when I heard the Elite Dangerous Terminology for making any sort of jump......

When you play till the early hours on Saturday getting hammered on cheap cider, using your new sat navigation to get you to imperial space, you call it a day, pick up a pint glass to get some water into your system, fall over smash glass in hand into wall, have to explain coolly to the Mrs you're not drunk whilst she bandages you up because you don't want to go to A&E at 3am
