When your first thought in the morning is "I can't remember what damn system I'm in." and try to reach for your computer chair thinking you're in 0g.

You wake up on a dim and gloomy morning after a six hour Elite session using a Rift and you swear that you can still see the screen door effect.

(Really!! :) )

You push up on the flight stick only to realize you just put your car in reverse at 45mph. (transmission mechanic still can't figure out what happen) ;)

The first thing I thought of when I heard the Elite Dangerous Terminology for making any sort of jump......

Frame-Shifting...... equals Rubert Giles removing (Shifting) his eye glass's (Frames If you get the double meaning!).....cleaning them with his hanky and putting them back on.

You might understand better if you were me and watched this show about as much as I have.

If your thinking literally.

Rupert is well known for his habit of doing this almost once or twice every episode.

When you play till the early hours on Saturday getting hammered on cheap cider, using your new sat navigation to get you to imperial space, you call it a day, pick up a pint glass to get some water into your system, fall over smash glass in hand into wall, have to explain coolly to the Mrs you're not drunk whilst she bandages you up because you don't want to go to A&E at 3am

.... When you calculate the time to pee in light seconds....

Ls is a unit of distance, not time :p

now if i could meet someone who could even get the right CITY, let alone house, let alone bathroom, let alone get it in the toilet bowl from even one light second away...

When you Address your in car Sat-Nav Astra or Zen and get upset when they don't respond with Yes Commander.

And when you think roundabouts have gravity wells and drive over the pavement/sidewalk to avoid them.

Then on getting home you try to squeeze in via the letterbox.

When you look up at the night sky and feel that you have a new, more visceral understanding of what a statement like this really means:
'hey, space is really big. What I'm looking at is really just the smallest corner far out in one of the arms of the Milky Way'

Then you smile to yourself and shake your head slightly, a little overwhelmed and amazed by the world.

If you play with a TrackIr and watch a youtube video, don't be surprised to find your head moving around trying to look around further...

When your watching a national geographic documentary about snakes, and feeling jealously towards the person who owns an Anaconda because you only have a viper :(
