I'm a Premium Beta backer, so no free permit for me. Is it possible to earn a permit in game, though? 10% discount seems quite tasty to me.
Did you try to upgrade FSD?

Calling all bounty hunters....
What's the equipment selection like there?
It's very good. It's my home system & my Cobra now has A4 modules as far as possible. There seem to be some rare units (Power Distributor, Sensors, & Life Support) that are not stocked, but then again, no-one else has them either, lol.![]()
Quick test to see if 1.01 is offering the ship 10% discount.
Test buying a new sidewinder at Jameson Memorial / Founders World / Shinrarta Dezhra
Balance 1,228,232 CR
Advertised Sidewinder cost 28,800 CR (Bought as new ship)
Balance 1,196,232 CR
Actual cost of ship 32,000 CR
Sold the sidewinder back and got 28,800 CR back
Seems to be for the hull only. But for anything Asp or larger it's still a substantial chunk of money.
That's the only reason I haven't sold back this Python even though I'm stuck and can't jump anywhere due to lousy max range.
I never knew there was a discount. We were asked in the DDF what the benefits should be. My suggestion was that there should be a good selection of ships and equipment but that it should be more expensive than elsewhere. I guess the calls for discounts were louder, oh well.

Why would you suggest the ships and goods should be more expensive than the rest of the galaxy? A planet used as a hub by Elite pilots would naturally be better stocked, but seeing as you need a permit to get there, which normally also has to be earned by reputation - no small feat I'd imagine, making things more expensive is just a kick inna fork.

At least back in gamma the founders world could be found by anyone simply entering "founders world" into the galaxy map search… =)
I didn't want any in-game benefits at all. No insurance discount, no equipment discount. I imagined that the Pilot's Federation has upkeep costs and so would rely on its members to keep it funded, and taxing ship and equipment purchases would be a good way to do that.
"Gamma" means "Oh, s**t, we forgot to include 70% of the features the game needs, let's cram them together in the last day. Gamma 2 certainly felt like thisI feel the need to point out that these goods didn't exist until the full release, along with half the missions. Pretty sure Frontier doesn't know what "gamma" means.
