Shinrarta dezhra - founders world. Benifits?

Did you try to upgrade FSD?

It uses an undersized FSD for its size. Everything else in the ship is class 7 or 6, but the FSD is only 5.

In any case I can't afford a 5A yet and with the A jump range is still lackluster, around 13.1LY. So I've just been trading between stations in the system hoping the NPC-molested market demand goes back to normal soon.

On the bright side, this ship is like playing in god mode. The el cheapo 6E shields are impervious to most weapons the NPCs carry. Would take a rail gun, missile or plasma acc barrage to take them down.

I never knew there was a discount. We were asked in the DDF what the benefits should be. My suggestion was that there should be a good selection of ships and equipment but that it should be more expensive than elsewhere. I guess the calls for discounts were louder, oh well.

The benefits only apply if you keep the name and location of the founder's world a closely-guarded secret.
Having revealed the name, you are now Founder's Enemy Number 1!

Calling all bounty hunters....

You noticed that you can type in "Founders World" in the galaxy map and it will show you the system mentioned by the OP?

What's the equipment selection like there?

It's very good. It's my home system & my Cobra now has A4 modules as far as possible. There seem to be some rare units (Power Distributor, Sensors, & Life Support) that are not stocked, but then again, no-one else has them either, lol. ;)

Thanks!

There's an A4 power distributor down in LHS 1122 if you're after that one. Might check around the area for sensors too as I'm sure I saw some.

EDIT: it's an A3, sorry, though it looks like that's the size of the Cobra distributor.

Quick test to see if 1.01 is offering the ship 10% discount.

Test buying a new sidewinder at Jameson Memorial / Founders World / Shinrarta Dezhra

Balance 1,228,232 CR
Advertised Sidewinder cost 28,800 CR (Bought as new ship)
Balance 1,196,232 CR
Actual cost of ship 32,000 CR

Sold the sidewinder back and got 28,800 CR back

Still not fixed then.

Seems to be for the hull only. But for anything Asp or larger it's still a substantial chunk of money.

That's the only reason I haven't sold back this Python even though I'm stuck and can't jump anywhere due to lousy max range.

Thanks for the confirmation. Even for my T-6, it is a bit above 200k lost..... I guess I'll have to get some more Cr for the ASP i'm drooling for!

Why would you suggest the ships and goods should be more expensive than the rest of the galaxy? A planet used as a hub by Elite pilots would naturally be better stocked, but seeing as you need a permit to get there, which normally also has to be earned by reputation - no small feat I'd imagine, making things more expensive is just a kick inna fork.

I'm glad FDev ignored that suggestion as it follows no logic. My suggestion would have been to have the ability to buy "super tuned" versions of equipment - as I'd imagine Elite pilots would also be able to squeeze the best out of standard equipment.

looks to me like the -10% is +10% or close to it.

Someone's maths at FDev are wrong.

I didn't want any in-game benefits at all. No insurance discount, no equipment discount. I imagined that the Pilot's Federation has upkeep costs and so would rely on its members to keep it funded, and taxing ship and equipment purchases would be a good way to do that.

At least back in gamma the founders world could be found by anyone simply entering "founders world" into the galaxy map search… =)

still works, and in some routfinders its still called LTT 4549.

What im curious about is who actualy should have an permit. I joined up in the non-prem beta and got an permit at the start of gamma. Still have it, but it does not feel right :)

Hence why we are in the state we are in.

Thankfully thats one place FD didn't listen. But since you like to play a game and waste your time for no rewards, I'll gladly take your money. How about every tuesday we meet up so I can blow up all your ships too. I wouldn't want you to get anything rewarding out of the game, it may destroy everything you never wanted.

I believe some of the beta folks got permits by error, myself included. If you clear you save you lose it but if you haven't then it's still there.

I feel the need to point out that these goods didn't exist until the full release, along with half the missions. Pretty sure Frontier doesn't know what "gamma" means.
"Gamma" means "Oh, s**t, we forgot to include 70% of the features the game needs, let's cram them together in the last day. Gamma 2 certainly felt like this :)
On topic, the Founders World is awesome because you can get a wide range of equipment and ships there, discount or not. This is where I store all my ships and go for upgrades.
But does it really sell any rare wares? I don't remember seing it. I am also pledged on Beta level and got the permit. I think I remember seing it listed for my rewards though, so not sure why it shouldn't be available for beta pledgers...
