Newcomer / Intro where do I find slaves/pirates?

Hi all,

Just starting out and all the missions in my starting system seem to want me to bring things, or kill pirates. I've no idea where I will find slaves to be liberated or where pirates hang out. Am I missing something or is there a way of tracking thee down?

Might I suggest flying to a different station... There's probably another one in your starting system that will have different missions for you. If not, a neighboring star system will likely have stations there. Unless you are an amazingly talented pilot, you will not want to go up against the pirates wanted by those missions just yet.

Have the same problem...
I realy miss some explaination of the game world and how the game works...

My first mission was to bring 2 slaves to my starting outpost... I have no clue how to get them...
And when I fight against some ships... I loose...
And with so less money I am scared to buy goods because I don't know where to sell them for a higher price or better how to find out where I could sell them for a higher price :/

I am very frustrated by now

I feel like a little child which got throw into a fire... And the man who put me in there than tells me... "Hey are you stupid? You need at least a Fire Suit"

I have the same issue, but I've been told if you go to the system and fly around looking for unidentified signals that's how you find pirates. It's luck of the draw because sometimes you get just floating cargo or something, and really too hard to find combat.

When you come out of hyperspace in a populated system there should be a Nav beacon nearby, head to it and drop out of supercruise like you would at a station, sooner or later a pirate will come and scan you and say something like "I see all" or "Give me your cargo." Have a tonne of something in your hold to attract them. You may find this happens more often in an anarchy. Slaves come in two varities, Imperial Slaves which can be found in a lot of Empire systems and Slaves, see this thread for locations for the latter: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=76314

Fly around a few systems and get a feel for prices, then make your base where you find some good trade routes.Look at the description of the systems, an industrial economy will want food, agricultural places will want crop harvesters etc. Also check each station in the system as they may havve different economy types that you can trade between. You can see details of where goods are imported from/ exported to when you're buying them although this was alittle buggy and I don't know if it's been fixed.

You should avoid combat mission early game as you are poorly equipped, also avoid the deliver slave missions as you can only get them in imperial space. It is best to take the light cargo runs first as they are easier to complete.

Imperial Slaves can only be bought in Imperial space, the other kind can be found in a systems dotted around the galaxy. I bougth some 60ly from Aiabiko which is Fed territory.
