Ok so I took one of those 100k+ kill missions

How many USS points do you check? I was always put off before with the huge random wait.

It doesn't takes that long anymore. I think they changed it and you have a much much higher chance now.

I found a lazzy way. I did that after the small ship told me in which system the Pirate Lord was.
My one was in an anarchy system..not sure if it matters. I simple stay close to stationary in SC by reducing power to minimum. Then I wait for the USS that will spawn very close in front or next to the ship (mayby 1 km). I select it and can drop out of SC directly into the USS.
And how it seems that's then mostly an USS belonging to an active mission that you have.

I checked 3 for this one, first one had a type 7 tellling me to go to a different system, one had a wedding barge and escort, he was on the third one.

The new mission I took I've checked 36 USSs, got 133k in extra bounties though. I've got another 30 hours to find him though, I won't take these mission types without tons of hours to search, so I can do other things if I get bored.

That's the theory anyway.

And WOW!

I took it in kremainn, flew to the first in USS in potriti, saw a lovely chap in a type 7 telling me he's been seen in yakabugai. Fair enough, I flew to yakubugai, and in the second USS I checked out there he was!

I expected an elite anaconda, I got an elite anaconda, and it was quite possibly the most exciting fight I've had to date, I thought my little viper wouldn't stand a chance, but after dropping his shields with my beam lasers and focusing all my firepower on his powerplant I finally got him!

In total I used 800 rounds of multicannon, 3 shield cells, and 6 rounds of chaff, he didn't even break my shields!

Spent 3k on ammo, got his 34k bounty as well as 137k for completing the mission, and rep up through all the factions in kremainn.

Thank you FD, my legs are still shaking.

Moments like these are what make Elite just that little extra awesome!

I've done three or four now in my Cobra. I thought I was getting better at it, but earlier today I was taken down to 55% hull and it was only the system security arriving and chipping in that allowed me to finish him off. It's the shields. It takes me too long to get thru the shields with my gimbaled pulse lasers. The multi-cannons do rip the hulls up though. I've upgraded to beams so we'll see how that goes after I dump this Eranin Whisky...

Beams make a big difference, particularly if they're medium. I use one medium, one small (and the same with two Mcannons).

They're a bit more erratic, the medium beam less so. But once you get the right spot it takes the shields down fast. And does decent hull damage on close passes.

I use a level 2 beamlaser, a level 2 multicannon, a level 1 beamlaser and a level 1 dumbfire rack on my cobra. Works pretty well against most targets. But the price is impressive. The level 2 gimballed beam cost 500k. Need to buy another one :)

will then switch to two missle racks and hunt high rank enemys...

Second time my Target simple vanished into thin air with no trace after more than 1 hour fight.
If they are down to 10% and get 7 or 8km away from you then they are simple gone without a trace.
That and that the system faction influence does not react to anything I do since 4 days kills all the fun for me.

If the target jumps away keep checking USSs in the system, he pops up again

Great work! Go Viper...

He doesn't jump. He vanish/disolves not trace no wayve nothing. (no surge)
Yes he will pop up in another USS again..but at full health. So that does not help.

Ah, I haven't lost a target yet, I have a beefy shield setup on the viper so I could take a few hits and stay within 3km of it.

I think it's actually easier to kill Condas in smaller ships. Killed a few in my Asp, but easier to do so in smaller ships as you can sit right behind it and stay there.

watched them turn tail and jump out with less than 5% hull. In one instance 1% hull. *angry* LOL

Its in those moments that I wish it was practical to scan their trail and follow.. but its pointless with the way the wake scanner works currently.

Not at all. For me it works perfect. Just make sure you jump with the wake still selected; trying to select the target system manually in the nav panel doesn't do any good.
