[RELEASE] Slopey's BPC Market Tool! - New version!

You need to make sure the system and station names are spelled EXACTLY the same.

So if your in the mcc system you need to make sure capitalization is the same.

For example if in OCR when you manually put in the system if you put in MCC in slopey the system must show as MCC too. If in OCR it is MCC but in slopeys for some reason it show as Mcc or mcc it will not work and nothing happens.
Aha, thanks a lot! Now I got it to work. Thank you so much!

Is there some magic I need to invoke to get the database persistence to work? It doesn't seem to be loading right on my machine. I see the ED*.db files in the same directory, but it doesn't seem to get loaded at boot, or may only be loaded when I query the server.

Can we have a column when doing a round trip search for the station name as well as the commodity for the return trip? I've twice screwed up by buying at the destination station only to work out when I get back home and make next to nothing that the return commodity should have been bought from a different station. Happens in Sol a fair bit as there's so many stations I assume.

Otherwise, brilliant effort and filling in a hole that Frontier should have provided in the game. It's immersion breaking to not know this information; with FTL travel, every pilot would have access to crowd sourced information like this through their ship computers. Well done!

Yes - that'll becoming along shortly.

How do you know it *doesn't* work? Are your commodities/station lists blank once the BPC is running? If not, the database has loaded.

Went to save data, got message "Slopey's ED etc has stopped working"

BPC took the csv data in fine, once I'd found the right format i.e. SCSV ;)

Running into some problems using the BPC from I Bootis.

When hitting the 'Current' button in the BPC, it selects '37 Xi Bootis' instead of 'I Bootis'. When I manually select 'I Bootis', I get no trades for the actual system. When I do an Add/Update Prices, it's putting in 'i bootis'. Maybe the lowercase 'i' is throwing things off? Also, there's both CHANGO DOCK, and Chango Dock in the database.

Thanks again for all the work you're doing on the BPC Slopey!

Hi Sloppy.

cant update below station with fresh data, mainly new time-stamp.

[localmode] [LHS 3447] [Yaping Enterprise],

yday I inserted data for Yaping Enterprise and Fairbairn Station, today i inserted data for the remaining stations in LHS 3447. i then went back to Yaping Enterprise and got fresh data but it hasn't updated with the new time-stamp.

Do i have to wait 72hrs(or whatever the drop of limit is) before i can update a station?

iv'e not left the starter system yet -just testing stuff still before i start playing.

[EDIT] - just loaded a 2nd BPC in a sandbox and checked online data and it appears to have updated the online db but not my local one

There may be an issue with grid refreshing in "local" mode. I'm not sure where I call the refresh routine. If you change to a different system/commod in the combo and change back, do you now see the data?

I'll check it here but it does work for me, as I see data which I've added before the BPC has had a chance to download the latest dataset from the cloud, but I I'll check when I have updates off.

Slopey, another one for you; there is a tickbox to 'show distance' when searching but no column to actually see it. Thanks for all the hard work.

I only have the one system and 5 stations in my db ATM(so cant load another system)

[refresh] and [reloading] still presents with the previous data not the fresh input.
Be good if u can check the localmode out a bit when you get time.

will goto another system in an hr or 2 need to rest my arm a bit(not in sling now but still painful)

I have updates turned on, but I noticed it not refreshing after I add/updated too. I just did an add/update, and tried switching system like you suggested and I'm still seeing the old data. Once a download happens, or I force one, it shows the updated info.

And this information of places you're not at - is it current? Because if someone else has updated the station while they're there right now, you're going to overwrite it with aged data.

It's like that to coerce you into only entering current data. I don't want everyone entering last week's numbers they wrote down into the BPC today tbh, so that's why it locks it to your current station.

Yes it's current, at least within a 10minute margin, it seems I was the only one/first one's at the time to even update those systems/stations as well.
Even if someone enters data while I'm away that's not to say he's been writing it all down on pen/paper before I took the picture either hehe :p

I made a trade route of 5 systems in a row, went to each station with the OSD tool and put them in their own folders, then entered the information all at once on your tool.
Even though it had asked to modify verbose to 1 and I let it, I guess something went screwy my end but I managed to enter about 8 stations worth of information and every day I'd like to update my route without having to basically OSD>Import>OSD>Import, but OSD(All stations>Import(All data).

It's more preference of how I like to do it, I'd love verbose mode to still update my location but not lock me into entering details at a place I'm not at because I'm doing it while jumping/cruising in another system.
Anything to save on time, which I have very little of so your tool and the OSD have been a great help.

Edit: Also I play solo mode so I was going off this part of the OP "that's local mode/solo, where only your own data will be shown to you.."

Just tick/untick it again, it'll come back.

It's just a refresh issue then I think - I'll check it as per my reply to NoTones.

Awesome tool :)
Just a couple of requests - can we move Cobalt, Paladium and Silver into Metals (not minerals) and rename Drugs cat to be "legal drugs" so it all fits with the market in game?

Hi Slopey... not sure if you saw this, but I think it would be a good idea to have everything grouped and named as in game ... (hope that's not a problem)..:)
