So 5% or 95% - no happy medium Frontier

Since alpha I could go on and on with features that have been removed for the sake of "immersion" for the old timers, now your going to make the masses play for 10 years in order to get anywhere trade wise.

Are you guys trying to bide some time in order to scrape up an office pool to pay for the " hit elite - get a cash prize?"

Why are we constantly swinging the nerf bat at the only REAL WORKING faction and cash mechanics of the game? Trading and point to point missions? The rare nerf, and all market trades being sub 200 credits per ton is fracking ridiculous. I blow a quarter to half a payout just in fuel costs in a cobra doing point to points.

You guys either swing for the fences, or strike out - you never go for second. Your mathematics always seem to equal either 1 or 99.

Oh - and bring back bobbleheads. I know WHY they were removed - but there is always the possibility of a toggle or to NOT show them on the dash. I suppose though that because of some of the venomous original "Elites" around here that won't be happy until they get the EXACT game they played 20+ years ago with shiny new graphics - that much of the fluff and candy that makes a game a "game" that's FUN and engaging are likely gone for good.

So I don't get the point of the post.

You're complaining because you can't make money?
Might want to speak to those who are raking in millions. I'm sure they can provide some advice.

The rest of us are enjoying the game, rather than focusing on credit accumulation.

I miss a Han Solo bobblehead tbh.

Other than that, I ain't a trader specialized in the rarest delicacies. The axe misses everytime. On the other hand trading in Onion stuff gives as much cash with added risk... ( the whole point ).

Hey,

I am sorry to see you are frustrated. However, what you are saying is not true in the absolute sense of the word.

"All market trades being sub 200 credits per ton" - Today and yesterday I traded, amongst other things, gold and super conductors for 900ish and 700ish credit profit per ton.

Also, I have had two hauling missions today in my Cobra that payed 100k and 80k (give or take a thousand) profit. I dont get these often but I do get them. Besides these I did plenty of missions that made me fetch item so-and-so, which most times make me double the profit of what I pay to get the items (10k to 30k profit). All of the above missions never require me to do more than 4 jumps (2 there, 2 back) to finish them.

Besides that, I dont pay for fuel because I bought a fuel scoop for a measly 7000ish credits.

Cheers,

Have you heard of a Fuel Scoop? Maybe if you stopped focusing on a financial grind and actually played the game you'd have more fun!

Even 900 a ton pales in comparison to some of the collection missions.
Alas I did not have the cargo space

You cant go after the galactic average when compare prices. You have to find 2 or 3 stations you can do trade between where the supply and demand is high.
Atm iam doing trade between 2 system that is 18ly in distance.
Iam in an ASp with 88 cargo hold. 1000c/ton profit one trip and return trip 700c/ton so total 1700c/ton and the tour takes about 10 minutes to do with a profit of 149,600c
In an hour I can make 897,600c
And compare that with the time I have to sit and wait for my cargo to be full of rares ( aprox 3 ) that I sell for 1.4mil then I can make more profit from normal trading.
its just about to find a good trade route.
Oh and not to mention the missions I can take that increase my rep,,

Are you doing multiple max range jumps? In my Asp I spend 1K per trip in fuel, normally 600-1K creds. I also make 700/ton one way and 35/ton on the way back. That's ignoring the collect (matts) which are often upto 2K per ton inc of the cost to buy.
Yes point to point isn't as high value as it used to be (not seen a 1K/ton profit since Gamma 1.05) and is awful compared to the old rare trade, but it is still profitable.

OMG WHERE?????? ;)

The most important thing to buy once you get a cobra is a decent fuel scoop. You should never be paying for fuel anymore. Its way too expensive and it freely available. Whatever you have to pay for a fuel scoop it'll pay for itself very fast.

So to sum up, get a fuel scoop and save yourself some credit. :)

If you want to make any money in trading it is only worth looking at the price somewhere sells something for and the price another place buys it for. All other information in the game is either wrong or completely misleading, even whether they should be a supplier in something or not. If you just hunt around and note prices yourself it is possible to get some fairly decent trade runs, they are just not as good as they used to be and it is a lot of hard work.

Good advice. When I started on launch day (I was not part of the beta), I found two stations within my starting system where I could buy animal meat at one, and sell it at the other for a 400 credit per ton profit. I checked the other stations in the system that also needed animal meat, but their prices weren't as high. So I just did a bunch of runs between these two stations (on the return trip, about the only cargo worth anything is biowaste, which was only a 50 credit profit per ton) to get me started, always checking the bulletin board at each station too. Occasionally, I would find a black box mission that would take me to another system, but net me 13,000+ credits.

Worked pretty well for me to get going at least.

.... so basicly the ingame map is useless... got it, guess its bounty hunting and board work for now, (mining is too painful, need a refinery with at least 4 slots to even deal with mining.

Sorry for being old
Sorry for being venomous?

Is that what he wanted?
Guess I'm too old to comprehend this modern youf; YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDLY AND CLEARLY AS WERE ALL SENILE ROUND HERE :p

On topic - can't say I have issue with making money- trade rares, trade gold (buy low sell high!!), do missions, ream bounties from being interdicted, pay for repairs with money made from scan data, free fuel from the scoop...
I could go on but I'm too busy making my second million of the night :)

Started on launch day, never played the beta, just bought and kitted out my ASP with profits solely from trading (as I have discovered my old venomous reflexes make me a very poor fighter pilot!) and enjoying every minute!

Maybe you're on a poor area or something but Im finding trade to be quite lucrative.
