Actually you triggered civil war three times, but it didn't hold. We've since fixed that. It was an excellent test and kudos for the attempt.

Michael

Does this actually have any tangible effect within the game however? Are there more USS's with skirmishes? Are there more interdicitions? Does the economy drastically move? Are there more varied mission types? Is there an increase in NPC activity? Are stations closed/blockaded by NPCs identifying themselves with one side or another?

Or is it just a percentage indicator and a text description which says "civil war"? There's all this RP around moving a percentage indicator up/down, but does *anything* actually happen in the game? Or as a casual observer, if I was there 3 weeks ago, and go there now, would I notice any tangible difference? I'm not convinced I would, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

he seems to say they fixed the "whatever reason" it did'nt "hold"

I suggest we keep on the fight and see if it works now!

I too am willing to give it another go. even as we speak, we have "civil war critical" for the faction, yet we see nothing in system that has changed. I am concerned that there is nothing further to work towards, other than a line on the factions page. The whole intent of this exercise was to see how things changed, and to date, they have not. I will be in system fighting the good fight for another week, or until we see some other outcome. I hope everyone else will too. I have met a LOT of players, and it has been really fun.

Edited to add: Fair enough Micheal, I will continue my efforts. I consider my tirade tabled for now ;)

We saw change in the type of missions available and the content of the missions.

On Sunday, however, things stopped moving forward. The Federation made constant and big influence gains (taking away from the other minor factions first, and now from Crimson State Group). For no obvious reason.

If I hear solid foundation one more time...

Edit: I realise that's a bit trollish but I kinda feel like you just slapped me. The way I wanted to play the game just kinda went up in flames.

It's not up to the developers to tell us how we can crack a portion of the game. I appreciate that it is acknowledged that we nearly did (three times) and FD have tweaked the game in response (one way or another :D)

Probably time for me to move on to another part of the galaxy but this is the best instance i could imagine in E D and it's only a week old :)

It depends on the state that becomes active, but you get conflict zones if a civil war starts. Changes to the economy and to missions in response.

Can the influence affect other systems?

Edit - I mean can the system become independent ? Can this outcome then affect other systems?

Let’s remind ourselves of the conditions Lenin put forth, the four conditions for revolution:

The regime is split; there is a crisis in the regime.
The middle class is wavering between the revolutionary forces and the ruling class.
The working class is ready to fight and make the greatest sacrifices.
The existence of a revolutionary party and leadership.

I can see that you probably got 1, 2 and 4 but how will you ever get the working class marching?
Give them cheap food - then they have energy and get impatient for more change - (maybe)

been very intersted in the lugh situation has been interesting to watch, was tempted to join in but its a bit of a drive over.
still it doesnt seem the lugh event has been a failure, more that it hasnt quite panned out the way people wanted.
i think you shouldnt give up keep going at it especially as you have had confirmation it was working even if you didnt see it happen, and also the devs looked at it.
dont give up make lugh free

Thank you so much for this answer, having some insight into how it actually works is... awesome! and makes it feel like there is a purpose to redoubling our efforts!

So in order to maximise our effectiveness; we mustn't trade with the other stations that are controlled by other factions in the target system?
I was trying to do this but there were times I was taking missions from the crimson state that would send me to drop goods off at these other stations...
So I take it that the end result from these types of missions basically nullifies any gains as both parties benefit?

I actually love the fact that Michael is not being completely upfront and forward with his answers.. with each reply he gets 10 more "what about...".. Its great! The eliment of "figure it out for yourself, we arnt here to hand you the answers" is fantastic!
