Inventor of the computer mouse Doug Engelbart has died at the age of 88.

if it wasnt for this bloke PC gaming probably would have never have taken off.

I agree the mouse is quite simply the tool that opened the use of personal computers forever. A much overlooked and essential part of any pc. The guy did revive 500,000 eventually but only made 40,000 from the patent before it ran out in 1987 just a few years before windows took off and changed the pc forever.

But yes, shame about the loss - the mouse made the computer more accessible to the layman, and is probably one of the main contributors towards the popularity of computers nowadays.
