attitude to new players disgusting

my dad was playing in his sidewinder. apparently some guy just comes out of nowhere and 2hits him saying over comms "hahaha-hahaha- no*b"

this is a result of no-gamma-wipe and i've got to tell you i've even done it myself. it's just so damn easy to vapourise somebody in a sidewinder.

new players getting 1hit by anaconda/larger ships because FD doesnt understand why games start everyone on even ground. the reason is that someone can glitch his millions of credits and then come grief new people.

i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped. i told you so. should have wiped.

Come on cool down,
there is allready a baby seal protection party in the starter systems.

Just ask them for some free help and they will have fun blasting aggressors out of the sky.

Although I sympathise you really should calm down a little before making that kind of post. And even though I do sympathise, having a wipe in gamma would have done nothing to ease the situation. Experienced players with the kind of attitude to do this kind of thing will have a capable ship by the end of day 1... and you know it.

Does a wipe change players attitude ? Don't think so.

And when you bring out "credits" word amidst your reasoning I am inclined to believe your real motives are not really the grieving... is it ?! Be honest.

Even if there was a wipe there would already be people in ships equipped enough to take on sidewinders :)

i read an article the other day. it was something like this: 'But... but.. they bought the game on release day, and i bought it yesterday. they have an advantage! i demand a wipe!'

Fine, let's imagine that there had been a wipe. Would it have stopped players from earning more money than others, or becoming more adept at flying than others after release?

Of course not.

So then, according to your own flawed logic, the game would have to have gone through another wipe, and another one a little later, just to make sure that no-one could ever progress at all?

May I suggest that you think before starting such silly threads?

has nothing to do with a wipe, in 6 months time you'll have guys who got the game for Christmas behaving the same way.
unfortunately some players are just idiots

i mention credits because what he described to me was being 1hit by plasma accelerators. what the hell is he supposed to do?

i think starters should be put in their own bubble for the first few hours of play, not that everyone needs to be re-wiped now the game is out. i think it was a mistake not wiping it before, they're stuck with tonnes of glitched money in the game for instance.

edit: i don't think i should calm down. he wasn't wanted, he had no cargo, he wasn't bumping into stuff, this guy was just a straight up griefer.

I'd advise any beginners that are not willing to go full PvP to play solo until they are in a viper or a cobra and feel comfortable defending themselves. I don't agree with the attitude some players have towards others, but there's really no way around it.

until offline mode comes along :)

People are always going to have better stuff than you in MP games, thats the truth of it, There will always be people that can put in more hours than you even with a wipe at release.

From Beta to Gamme was a wipe. Backers have 24 Day advantage. You will find idiots in every multiplayer game, but this doesn`t mean ALL players will grief newcomers or kill them with uberships against toasters for their poor ego. Relax and put idiots on your ignore list. You will then never meet them again ;)

Good luck and fly save, mate !

Would probably have been worse with a wipe. Force all the experienced players back to square one and you end up with lots of frustrated vets piled on top of all the new guys, that's going to end well. The jerks would have done this anyway, at least there's probably slightly fewer cases of noob ganking since older players were more spread out.

as many other say, play solo until you think you are good enough to take on a player cobra. then have some cash left for the insurance and have fun. i did the same thing, btw i am one of the guys who patrols systems like sol for pirates and griefers who i despise, then kill them just for the fun of getting a bounty that they have accumulated.

2 years later - somebody buys the game - I DEMAND A WIPE! they have been playing for 2 years, and I for 2 hours! this is not fair!! WIPE!
