My opinion is that I generally love the game, but keep seeing it get easier and easier reducing any modicum of challenge left in it.

When you see all these threads constantly requesting the lowering the threshold it was only a matter of time.
How many OMG this game is too hard threads have we had.. this is why most other devs dumb their games down from the off. Cos they know the TA.

I was expecting Empire Strikes Back, instead I got Phantom Menace.
14 months following the development, dozens of hours in beta, listening to ddf discussions on Lave Radio, I feel like the whole thing was either misrepresented or changed direction very late in the day.
Yeah because frustrating steep learning curve games are so much fun to play.... /yawn
Target sales > hard mode Beta testers = welcome to the world of making more sales.

Someone said they were constantly damaging a target with beam lasers and still lost the bounty to NPCs jumping in. That's not challenging, it's bad design. My opinion is that the game is better off now.
It has nothing to do with making the game easier more about a broken mechanic, if you spent your time making 98% of something and someone added 2% to it a sold it and kept all the profit you'd (rightfully) be annoyed at that would you not..? If not then you obviously have to much time on your hands.
I know I'm in the minority, but you really need to understand it was a minority who funded this game and put time into development discussions.
That minority used to be called a core fanbase, and I don't know where they all went.
Agreed, after a 15 minute high intense dogfight that leaves me with headaches and twitchy arms, having an NPc fly in for the last two shots to take your bounty is lik having someone at work hand in your research and then claim it is theirs because they put the staples in it... Games should be fun to play, not a recurring nightmare of poorly executed game mechanics.
