I have had it with docking request denied.

Every time I'm gonna dock with an outpost it dosent matter where I always getting docking request denied so I either wait or relog to soloplay.

So I have desided I will only play soloplay from now on, I cant stand hear another docking request denied again.

Possibly stupid question but are you getting within 7km before asking for clearance as I believe its automatically refused if you are 7km+ away?

move 20 LY - never have the problem again!

Good point... Many people "including myself" initially worked to establish our credit making networks close to the original spawn point. It is presumed relatively safe. so we root ourselves early on. The problem is, the spawn point is shared among many of us.. thus bottle necks are a foregone conclusion. the only way to avoid , limit or eliminate the problem with "open world" play.. is to move outwards.. away from the clusters of people all doing the same things.. in the same areas..

It's a common 'feature' at present. I feel your pain op. Logged out an hour ago, got fed up with it. Logged back in to same problem, logged out again.

Hope they fix it soon.

I have played since start of premium beta and im well over 20ly away from starter system, I'm more like 50-60ly away and still gets it every time I try to dock at an outpost.

If an NPC is docked you will get it also, but when you request to dock it will force the NPC to disembark... just give it 10 seconds or so and request again.

There's nothing to 'fix'. The problem is that you're trying to use the same overused outpost as everyone else. Go three jumps out from there, find a new 'home', and settle in there; problem solved.

There's no 'newbie zones' or anything, difficulty does not change as you travel - it is entirely based on the NPCs you encounter, so there is literally no reason to stay where you started and many good reasons to move.

To help us put that into perspective, please answer S.H.A.D.O's post.

I spent a happy five minutes hang in space asking for, and being refused, docking rights to a small station. Logged out and had a browse here. First post I hit told me to drop into Solo Play and the problem goes away. It's a slight jar to logout and in again, but much better that than d*mn message!

I don't get it, I have never ever ever had a proper docking request denied.

(unless requesting when out of range, you're definitely not requesting outside the ~7.5km range?)

Another question for the OP, as he/she reports it's only happening for OUTPOSTS not Starports, is what sort of ship are you flying? Outposts can't handle bigger ships on their pad sizes, and may result in docking denied.

Happens now and then at small outposts, mostly with big(ger) ships (which have fewer pads to choose from). And yea, it's not just players that might be "hogging" the pads - have waited couple Asps and T6's myself to clear the pad I'm aiming for (the only pad suitable for big ships).

Never happened to me either, at least since release day. And I trade in one of the starting systems, always play in open mode.

Ok but the RPS thing is because of start location, OP says he/she is 50-60ly from the start area.

Worst case, you have two folks sitting inside the Hangar (assuming that's no problem) and go to lunch in the meantime - with the game still running.
Effectively, it only takes one or two of those to cause complete docking havoc on any Outpost.

Instances? I t's not like there's only one "set" of pads?

Then again hasn't one of the recent patches made it more likely you'll instance WITH other Cmdr's?

I suppose it's likely that implementation doesn;t differentiate between docked and undocked Cmdrs.
