Frontier support is not exisent. I want a refund

Spinning ship? I see you said you checked it, but did you try restarting your modem/router? I've had all kinds of problems recently that were fixed just by restarting it, not sure if it'll fix yours though.

Games do these things they are evil ... even per definition ... but the programmer tires to prevent them from doing so...

I've bought games which never worked on my PC at the time, no patches or bug reports helped. That's just PC gaming for you.

I don't think you can demand a refund for having horrible patience though. Most problems found requires the devs to recreate it if it isn't a known problem and fix. This can be incredibly difficult to impossible. It's much easier to go through some changes on your side and see if that fixes things. Connect directly to your modem/ISP equipment. Downgrade drivers, etc. Many things one can try. If you give up this easily, buy a console.
 
Reading this Thread, I do tend to think that his problem is on his end....
But with this said, the ED support deptarment is absurd... I have Tickets that have been opened on the 27th of Nov, and still have not got an answer,
and other tickets that were just closed... with out any response, other than is this still a problem if so please reply to this e-mail..... (Which bounces)
Then Go to the support and the Ticket shows resolved!

Yes I know they are busy, but the Support staff needs to get their S#*t together!

Has anyone asked what his computer specs are? I scanned through the pages and maybe we can help him if we know more about his system. Therefore in hopes of helping someone who is struggling with an issue I ask this what are your computer specs, processor, ram, video card, OS, all that crazy stuff.

I think you're actually genuine and not trolling like some have suggested so ill try to explain further the point I was trying to make.

Ranting at companies is fine if you're in McDonalds, they'll likely do what you ask.

But in the rest of life, it helps to have a pleasant demeanour, it opens doors, gets you the desired outcome, it's a life skill.

Understand that when you type these rants, you're not shouting at a faceless machine, there's a human at the end of the line and that person will be far more likely to help you if you act in a mature, measured and polite fashion. By all means be firm if you arent getting results after a reasonable period of time.

With your communication style in this case, many companies will ignore your demands and leave you to argue it out with the payment service provider, which granted you will probably win, but that could be achieved without getting angry and ranting unnecessarily.

Hi OP, as you know that your friends are playing ok, and FDev are very busy with their post-release schedule, how's about we diagnose your connectivity issues here. Please post your computer specification information (in a [ spoiler ] tag to limit spamming the thread) - in ED launcher goto Options>DisplayHardwareSurvey. Also post the brand/model of your internet router, and the results from speedtest.net. Finally post a full list (cropped screenshot would be quickest) of everything running in Windows's Task Manager.

This will be more constructive than getting angry with FDev & other CMDRs, while hopefully we can help you resolve your connectivity issues and get you joining us in-game :)

I still think that you went about this in the wrong way, Seamus. You could have given Frontier more time to respond (30 hours since your submitted ticket != 30 working hours) or you could have allowed us to help you. (And members of the community would have helped.)

Oh well. Perhaps you have saved us all a lot of trouble.

Before you go on the whole refund band-wagon, firstly note that it is a Friday night in the UK and it's been 6 hours since you gave them the logs.

Games don't generally crash on purpose, just to make your day bad... And how do we know your machine doesn't meet the minimum requirements? (Apologies if your machine is fine!)

Demanding a refund because your issue hasn't been resolved (and it may not even be Frontier's fault), after 6 hours... is frankly a little childish.

Sorry you can't play the game though. Have some patience!

And the defense mounts.....

This is very harmful to publishers and if you do that before going the proper channel to get a refund then you are just being vindictive...Have you done the proper refund request or have you only submitted a ticket?

What is the time frame for your ultimatum. I just checked my casio, and can tell you that the beer swilling chip/pizza eating conmen/women are currently spending your $45 dollars in the pub.

My understanding is that the IT helpdesk geeks do not get until noon so I would give it until Tuesday at noon (GMT) before giving up.

Chris/Joan/Matt and Spanky in IT are doing their best with your 10,000 tickets re you not getting through the IQ filter. Have you tried lowering it in settings

6 Hours? Try waiting four weeks to have your ticket closed with NO response other than.. " We have updated the game and your issue might be resolved" canned line.

Guess what.... it wasn't fixed. Resubmitted the ticket to wait three more weeks for another canned response like above. I submitted AGAIN this time with video of the actual bug showing I could reproduce it on current version. I got back, "We couldn't find it." closed.

Really? It is still there. Oh well..... Done trying.

But ya, six hours is nothing. Come back in three weeks and let us know.
