Viper anyone?

It's a great ship. As many weapons as the cobra and the fastest ship In the game. Can easily take down fed dropships.
ive now swapped for a cobra for the extra cargo space. But its easy to collect alot of money from bounties in it.

Only just moved on from my viper. Seriously good bounty hunter. Struggles a bit early on with jump range, but you can get it up to 10-11ly, which is enough.
Plus it sounds like a BEAST!
viper is a beast! but 180k banked sounds a little bit low.
i was not happy whit my viper until i had spent around 300k on outfitting.
your budget sounds more in line whit a eagle+setup (also a nice ship once setup, probably the best agility fighter in the game)
and remember you get 90% back from your ship and module investments once you trade your old ship in

A fully upgraded Viper with a decent pilot at it's helm can efficiently kill any NPC currently in the game, it also presents quite a small target profile, has great speed, great thrusters and a decent turning circle.
If you're combat focused, then you will love it.

Not related but I am lamenting the fact I sold my viper! I didn't mean to I switched from stored viper from eagle and....well something happened.
Pretty sure not a misclick. I am sad. Checking rebuy costs now.

Viper is a great ship but outfitting it becomes VERY expensive. Medium gimballed multicannons are 57k each for example.
Your fuel costs will be higher too.
Consider switched to the Eagle first. Fit it with a good power plant, capacitors and your personal choice of weaponry (mine is triple beam lasers) and use that to earn more for the Viper.
The maneuverability and extra weapon means you will be taking bounties much faster in the Eagle so that Viper will not be so far away.
Your fuel costs will be higher too.

Yes, the Viper is a beast when properly kitted out. But there does get to be a limit. Friend of mine maxed out a Viper with all high-level A-grades and went PvP against a kitted-out Cobra with dual shield banks and he just could not bring those shields down before they had eaten his up.
But against NPCs it's the bomb.
Although I think I'm going to max out an Adder just to see how a "small combat hauler" works out.

I love the viper. Great for bounty hunting, smuggling (fast/agile) and piracy. I just fully upgraded mine and it's crazy how powerful it can be.
If that's all you do then the Viper is the ideal ship.
This is exactly the route I plan to take, but all I have atm is is a reasonably pimped out Hauler and 130k. What's the starting budget for the Adder endeavor?

I've swithched to viper recently. Well, I feel like i should have spent more time flying my eagle. Without proper outfit if feels a bit... raw, so to say. And I really miss that triple boost.
So, given your funds - go for an eagle. You'll find its hardpoints well placed and maneuverability is the best in the whole game.

Ok I had about 200K for upgrades, did most basic stuff and added some multi cannons with the standard lasers.
what is the ideal weapon loadout for this beast?

Thrusters and the power for them are key. A viper without thrusters is sad.
Dual shield cells, I think he meant.
