Should I get a Cobra?

I have been flying my Adder for a while, and so far it is my favorite ship. Has enough cargo for me, (16 tons) good speed, jump range, and decent weaponry; (350k in bounty's within 2 days), and to top it all off, I love the way it looks and sounds.

However, I have enough money to buy a Cobra Mk III, which I know is better in pretty much every respect. But I love my Adder so much, I don't want to stop flying it... What should I do?

Completely your choice. The Cobra can have just over 40 cargo hold. And is a decent all around ship. Decent combat, trader, miner and explorer. The jack of all trades if you like, but it doesn't excel in any one field. Can't speak for the Adder, never bought it, was introduced after I had my Cobra. And I prefer the more combat orientated roles.

Better wait till you have around 500k spare cash for small updates for the cobra beside the buying price.
Never buy a ship and almost bankrupt yourself. Keep a good amount for upgrades and insurance at hold.

Buy it, try it out. Go back to your Adder and continue to haul some goods till you can upgrade your cobra to at least C class overall.

You need about 2mil to buy and decently equip a cobra ... stick with the smaller ship until you have at least 1mil - at that point it will still be sub-par, but better than stock.

To be honest, go for it. It's an absolutely top ship, it's the favourite for a reason, and that reason isn't just nostalgia. *Do* make sure you have enough for insurance though, and maybe an extra 100k or so for an extra couple of weapons and accessories. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Precisely the reasons i'm 'grinding' away in my L6 :D

Go for it. You won't regret that ;)

Well.... adder has (like both zorgon peterson ships lousy windows.
so here Cobra gets giant + (trust me it is completely different flight when you actually see)

longer jump range.
more internal compartments
rather fast.
with good thrusters pretty agile.
seriously don't buy cobra, you will not want to fly anything else :)

I made promise to myself that i will try viper or something before i end up again on cobra.

really what is most bothersome feature of adder for me is the windows you can't see squat.
I wish FD would implement one day customizable cockpits

ps:
if you really want it and waiting for money for its upgrades....dont wait.
With stock cobra you can trade lot better then with adder

It all depends on what you enjoy. There really is no perfect must have ship in my opinion. We are all doing our thing in the galaxy and there's room for every ship. I love that about this game. If you're having fun in the adder there's no rush to jump to something bigger. Waiting until you have more credits is sound advice. Bigger ships = bigger operating costs. Fly your adder with pride and enjoy the ride.

Alright then. I will stay in my Adder :)
