Scanning friends ships..

Dont do it!

My friend scanned my ship in an anarchy syatem and it landed me a 102,000cr fine...

No idea why but ive given up making sence of the daft game design decisions frontier have made on this game..

Just a warning to you all.

I believe that if you go to the right-hand panel, Functions tab and turn off "Report Crimes Against Me" it also disable the auto-crime report when you scan a friend with stolen cargo.

Haha no way, that's brilliant! =D

It makes a lot of sense and to my mind that's a rather cool game mechanic, once you factor in players from different factions and the roles people might want to play.

That's not a solution. The solution would be a "Report Crimes Committed By Friends Or Group Members Against Me" option.

Well I suppose you could argue that it's the computer automatically doing it as instructed I guess your computer could have access to your friends list.

I also I cannot imagine any reputable ship company installing a feature "Auto-report crime (but only if it's not one of my mates *wink wink*)" feature.

Generally I think (as usual) this is more an issue of educating players, something which Frontier doesn;t seem to be too hot at at the moment. =(

Although in all honesty I think it's a cracking feature. I'm currently sat outside a station scanning incoming Cmdrs to see what happens. =p

i actually told him to scan me so he could see the items i had stolen..

safe to say, it wont be happening again.

This is like taking pictures of all your drugs with personally identifiable info in view, then sticking it on Facebook.

If you wanted him to see your stolen items should he not have used the cargo scanner?

As a true friend did he then attack you to try and claim the bounty? (my friends would have....)
