Far too easy to cancel a mission

Most menus in ED are down, down, down, down, Back option is now selected, click trigger.
...apart from when viewing a mission.
Yesterday, I was viewing an important military mission after travelling 80ly to pick up weapons, and I just went into auto pilot...down, down, click. DAMN!!! In this case the lowest menu option is "abandon mission". Gone...vanished. DOH!
This really could do with a "Are you sure?" popup menu where "Cancel/No" is the default selected option.

Yep, good idea. I'd also like the default mission button to be 'Decline' instead of 'Accept'. A couple of times I've managed to catch the fire button accidently and Accept a mission I didn't want - yep, user error, but still.

Yeah, it took me a while to get used to this lack of consistency in menu options... Not a biggie, but slightly annoying at the same time :)

I've been using voice attack to navigate the side menus, it has to keep track of which tab was last active using a counter. Tried to use my 'request docking' one last night and because it had lost track on the active tab it cancelled my mission instead! !
I accept this is a risk of using it but if there was a confirm on the cancellation it wouldn't happen.

+1 for the post.

The problem is when the game is stuttering*, the menus don't open / close as rapidly causing navigation to be slow.

Things that need to be changed:

  • Decline = Default
  • Abandon with confirmation.
  • Accept with confirmation.
  • Key Press to Request docking with targeted object.

The amount of missions I have accepted that I didn't want is crazy. Should I raise a ticket with this?
The change to Accept by default was a bad design choice.

* (I think I found the reason it stutters, it's the NetLog.Log when it gets over 4k lines long it slows the game down. Deleting it speeds the game back up. Or you can logout to launcher and come back in to clear it.)

Just thinking out loud here, but we do have that famous "back" button keymapping now... maybe we could save us some trouble on a daily basis if we made more use of it.

Yes, but on almost all other menus this is the last menu, the bottom most menu.
So you're muscle memory goes down, down, down, down, click.
When doing this on the missions tab it's not the last option...abandon is...and no warning confirmation...that's the issue.

Oh, misunderstanding here. I'm thinking about the new controller mapping that takes you out of virtually anything.
