{QUESTION} Player Groups

My friend and I are trying to meet up in game to fly together, but due to the match making in the game we always end up in separate instances due to our geographical locations. I am in the UK and he is in the USA.

We both like open play though and so I was wondering if I could make a group and invite him into it and then go to open play would we be paired with each other ?

Would this force the match making to put us both into the same instances in the game ?

It works like that. Its not perfect, we often struggle to find each other, but with a bit of effort (including relogging) we usually manage to find each other.

Go to the "groups and friends" menu, create group, invite your friend and then play in the "group" mode instead of "open". It will not work when in the open.

Its supposed to put friends in the same instance of open play, but it NEVER happened for us.

This is the problem as we both like the open play feature as well, and would rather be in a populated instance with the added danger than a instance of our own with no other players.
