Congrats FD 
29,000 backers bodes well for a really healthy-sized playerbase (presuming they all play!). There must be multiple thousands of others who haven't backed but are looking on with interest and waiting for this game. I remember Eve only had 15-20K regular players when it first started, Elite Dangerous will beat that once it goes live.

1 800 000 / 29 000. This averages of 62 £ per person. It's not bad I think. Even if is an average and that in general I do not like the average.
Partly my fault on the dough front.... I jontied up in the last couple of days... Just need Ashley to return so I can get access to the DDF and cause some havoc

Maybe a new goal could be set for 2 million
I agree ... I suggest for a £2 million stretch goal, that they reward every Kickstarter backer named on this very forum exactly "Alien" with no variation a solid gold Elite badge and a personal tour of the Frontier offices in Cambridge, a central system, planet and station named to their choosing and a share of the profits from Elite: Dangerous and £100,000 worth of shares in Frontier Developments.I support this suggestion 100%
I honestly think this is a reasonable stretch goal
Since the early days i'm just left with thinking, "it could/should have been so much more......."

My guess? Star Citizen. They are going to reach 250.000 backers pretty soon. (And 18 million dollars in funding.)
Wow that's impressive.
I think Star Citizen have had a good advertising campaign and seem keen to churn out regular vids so I'm not surprised its doing so well.
Thinking about it I only found out about Elite Dangerous through a comment someone made on a Star Citizen youtube video!
