A Genuine Question.

Just decided to sign up to the forums, enjoying the game even if it is a little confusing at times, like the lack of information in game is astonishing. From the faction side of things (system control, it's effects/progression and your effect towards a faction. Basically raw data, numbers.) to the equipment/modules you can have on your ship (just a lack of numbers and detail again to what certain modules actually do).

The positives are that its essentially brought me here looking around for info and reading how other people are finding the game.

To the question then. :)

Is this 16 December release considered feature complete or is there going to be vast improvements and additions to the current features/systems/''jobs'' without charge?

I just hope that they are going to expand on whats already in game at no cost. Essentially finish this game before releasing the two planned expacs (which i'll be happy to pay for if thats the case). Has that even been stated anywhere?

They surely can't be happy with the current depth of these current systems and occupations. Is anyone?

Thanks for reading.

I certainly hope they are planning on fleshing it out with free updates before trying to sell us expansions. They have built a wonderful and beautiful canvas which has the potential to some day be a masterpiece, but there is no question the game is still very much a work in progress.

I don't know how anyone could possibly believe that the game was shipping 'feature complete' on Dec 16 with no more content to be implemented. Certainly, there was never anything said to give that impression by the developers, quite the opposite actually.

Yet there seem to be so many dissatisfied people who seem to have had this impression. Weird.

Have they actually stated as much though that is my concern, there is a lot of hope and speculation on this forum (from myself also) with nothing concrete. I'm just worried this is it, with maybe some patch polish but no expanding on systems/occupations that are already in.

For your ease of mind Corerupt I would recommend you consider this version of Elite Dangerous to be base version of which many enhancements are destined to be incorporated into. A lot of people are getting frustrated over the very repetitive game mechanics of many of the game play dynamics of ED, and many of the bugs a lot of people are having appear to be near game breaking for many.

Just keep in mind that the version was rushed in a sense to get released for the Christmas holidays, and whether or not it should be considered a true release version would no doubt be open to debate.

Don't get me wrong. ED in its current state is very enjoyable - but you must approach the game which much patience and enjoy the experience it offers in itself as opposed to try and play ED through some achievement based mindset alone.

ED has great potential and its developers already have further plans to enhance on it so it can only get a lot better.

Just enjoy the ride buddy and take everything as it comes :)

See you in the verse.

No, i do believe there will be more content added my question is, will whats currently been launched be expanded on to give it more depth to the occupations or endeavors the player wishes to partake in. Before the release of paid for expansions.
