News Elite Dangerous Manual V1.0

As nice as it is, would it be possible to have a version without the graphics under the text?

It's not the easiest thing to read

Well written and formatted, this is going to be a great help to new players. I also can't help but think how cool this would be to have in print form.

Yay!

Today I Learned - in normal space you can lock on to a Low Energy Wake and enter supercruise without a FSD scanner - that it's only needed for high energy wakes.

I did not know this (although I knew about being able to do it from supercruise)

Also:

If your ship is destroyed, you personal escape system will kick in and eject you from the ship,
micro-jumping you to the last starport you docked in, where you will be processed by the
authorities and your insurance company.

If you have an unclaimed bounty or fine issued against you by the faction controlling the
starport you are out of luck – you will need to pay off the bounty as part of the costs of getting
a replacement ship. If you have unclaimed bounties and fines issued against you by factions
that do not control the starport then you have a stay of execution: those bounties and fines will
become dormant as those factions believe you dead.

Dormant bounties and fines are invisible to Commanders. Dormant fines do not tick up towards
becoming a bounty. However, if you are scanned by authorities of the faction that issued the
bounty or fine, or detected committing a crime in their jurisdiction, the dormant bounty and
fine will reactivate

This is now very clear, but I assume this also means that the cost will be dropped from 1.5x to 1x at death?

Are they going to be updating this to include taking missions and how the trickle down affect from one's choices will be affecting the reputation long term? I was really looking forward some coverage but there wasn't any at all.

That is one hell of a manual! Luckily I don't need tor read it :)

Thanks Ed, I'm sure this'll be appreciated by many new players!

too short; didn't read!

;P

on a serious note, though, i love the front and back artwork. if Frontier, in the future, decided to publish an in-depth guidebook, i would seriously consider buying. leave out all the "how to install" and "press X button" stuff, explain actual game mechanics in-character and sprinkle with space vistas and more blueprint artwork. for next christmas, eh? *thumbsup*
