My adventure to HIP 28711 (Black Hole system)

I decided that I would go to my first black hole (again...) the first time I travelled the roughly 350lys to HIP 28711 from Eranin to view a Black Hole. However I had only fitted a Basic Discovery Scanner and I was unable to pick up anything but the huge class O star in the system. This time I travelled there with an Advanced discovery scanner.

The effects on the black holes are superb and it was actually quite disorientating at first. I took a few images and flew around in the distortion before packing up my things to leave. Apart from witnessing my first black hole (some ]thing I've wanted to do since I first got the game in Beta 1) I also

Earned roughly: 256,000 credits for scanning all the systems I went through but only surface scanning the odd one.
I earned the Exploring rank: Surveyor
I also increased my rep with the Alliance at Lave

Nice one! Exploring is fun isn't it :D
I just took a 200 system trip earning 1.6m myself
Annoying though, not a single Earth Like planet to be found! Plenty of Terraformable ones and Water worlds though.

First one I came across I dropped out when I got too close, I was squinting at the screen trying to work out how close I was from the distortion.

Here's my pic I took of one - also inside a Nebula here :)

I'd recommend not exploring that many yet until they fix the lag. It was taking up to 10s to turn in each system to begin with, it got better as I wittled it down gradually. I think it took an hour to turn them all in!

Yeah mine got slowly less laggy too!

1.6M? that's awesome :D your picture looks much better haha I wish I could have had something light behind mine!

I've been itching to go exploring for ages, but didn't actually do it until I had the Advanced Disc. Scanner and a a decent jump range (18ly atm).
I wouldn't have 1/4 of that amount without that scanner, there's just no way you'd find a lot of the more valuable planets without it, being they're generally small.

Yeah, when I took the basic scanner out to the system, I scanned and couldn't find anything. I flew for nearly half an hour trying to look for the black hole. It turns out the Black hole was 150,000LS away. the Basic scanner has a range of 500LS? haha
The advanced discovery scanner is essential.
