[Suggestion] Best Pilot Competition

Hey guys,

so I was wondering if you guys are interesting in some form of Competition, where we find out who the best Pilot is. For example 1on1 and the Winner gets to the next round until only one Commander is left, the Victor.
I know it isnt much of a PvP game atm, but seriously the thrill of a Dogfight versus a other Player is unmatched in my opinion. Also you got some opportunity to blow your hard earned money. Or not so hard earned, if you are a Pirate

You should start "Ragnarock Tournament". Find a good place in the middle of our galaxy, so anyone could come, set a date 2 months ahead and advertise it heavily. Contact the community managers, set a prize... Who knows, maybe it could make it to the GalNet news? I would come.

The game is a great frame for players to fill. Its a great idea, commander!

I suggest you have two divisions, Open and stock sidewinders.

But I suspect the a decent pilot in a fully upgraded Python will win this. But I'm all for stock sidewinders at dawn, that'd be a lot of fun.

Agreed! I would even go ar far as creating divisions for every ship type. I would love to watch Haulers fight.

Also, we can have "camera players", who would Youtube the best matches.

Yeah I was thinking about a low budget Tournament too. So it would be free for all. Maybe there should be different sections, so only fighters with the same tier fight against each other.

Thanks for the Input guys, well I will think about it and maybe I will come back with a solid Idea.

yeah that would be a lot of fun, I agree and also with commander raf von torn..... we should have some kind of division, sidewinders vs sidewinders and cobras vs cobras
that sort of thing...that would be AMAZING.

I was thinking of this some time ago, but I think it's still a little early for it maybe.

I think the best way to go about this is to first start a group, and then gather all the (test) players that wish to participate into this group.

This way you can try out a few dry runs a few times and find an adequate way to do this. (where, when, how, rules of engagement etc..) As there is no infrastructure for this within the game you're going to have to work out a way that suits a wide range of player time zones etc..

Also by the time you have got all this good stuff together hopefully we may have wings in the game, and that's where these kinds of piloting competitions could become something really special inside elite, not just as another "external pvp death match" game type, but something with a deep meaning inside the game as well.

The term "Death Match" bugs me. See it more as a relaxed gathering, where we can chat a bit, get to know each other and fight in civilized manner.
