The Combat Route

Hi All,

I've finally got my Eagle kitted out how i want and can take down most (NPC) ships quite fast. I have now completley removed any Cargo space from my ship and want to concentrate on making money from Bounties and the big paying (160K) hunt missions. Any tips? So far i've just been hitting every USS i see. You could say i'm a USS addict, can't resist one if it appears.

Good luck taking out an Elite Anaconda (those high paying missions) with your Eagle. It will be quite the accomplishment if you can pull that off.

I would suggest for bounties, going to nav beacons/ mineral extraction zones.

Thanks, i'll make sure i have plenty of insurance. I just want to try it. Beat a Python the other day, but i'm guessing a Elite Anaconda is a big step up?

best place, find an anarchy system close to the faction system you like(maybe close to both feds and empire, or alliance or whatever) and grind that nav beacon. just get a warrant scanner and scan them, then check under contacts menu to see bounties.
then take them down and repeat. no security vessels :)

I am a Bounty hunter / Imperial Naval pilot (Ranked "Squire" at the moment)

I made over 2million credits in the last two or three days with a combination of...

Warzone Imperial combat vouchers.
Warzone combat missions.
Nav beacon bounty hunting in anarchy systems.
Pirate lord bounty kill missions.
Interdiction of wanted NPCs
Occasional interdiction of players with large bounties. (best one so far - 50k)

I am also now friendly with the Empire, and Allied with most Imperial factions in my operating area.

I use a heavily upgraded 4x multicannon viper, but an eagle should be fine as long as you are carefull. Chaff Launchers and shield cells are invaluable for dealing with Pirate lords. You have to keep pips in engines to ensure they cant open up distance on you. I have found the best way to deal with them is close fast and STAY right on their six behind the engines.. its a turret deadzone. They will try desperatly to gain separation from you to allow a backward slide... but as long as you keep your engines powered you can keep in the deadzone and eventually Destroy the drives, then nuke the powerplant in safety as they spin helplessly through space.

2 million is two days pales in comparison to trading, but at least its fun :)

Thanks for the advice.

Good advice above. I don't notice much of a pattern to USS's except they appear at a distance determined by your current speed (about x16-20s of travel at current speed) and after the first one appears they seem to spawn more rapidly. I crawl along at min throttle and just wait; it's never more then a couple of mins and as soon as one appears I'm at safe disengage distance. Max 3 or 4 USS's and my objective appears.
