Finding Top 5 Bounty Targets

I've seen the "Top 5 Bounties" pop up a few times in the Galnet, usually with "last seen at...." locations.
.

Its quite unlikely that they would just be cruising around in the last known system, especially the older that message gets. Is there a way to track targets across multiple systems?
.
How would someone go about finding that target?
Anyone had any experience with this?

Since release the Fed and Empire top 5 naughty person lists have all been players, so good luck in finding them, to track them across multiple systems you would have to spot them, follow them and scan their wakes, but there is no guarantee you will spot them in the first place, unless you were seriously cyberstalking them.

That's my take on it too. I was hoping I was missing some trick to tracking prey.

Hopefully this area of the game will develop. It could use some "tools" to aid tracking whilst still requiring a "skill" element on the part of both parties.

Well, they do give last known location.
You can ask players if they've seen them.

Just camp around the last known location and hope.
I wouldn't mind being able to buy info from some shady parties.

Try sending them a friend request. In order to get on the top 5 list on Galnet, you have to be a good fighter. AFAIK these guys are looking for a challenge.

There is a mechanism in place for AI bounty missions where other AI pilots give you information on your targets location when you find them at USS sites. This could just as easily be used to allow AI pilots to give updated info on Players. The "game" knows where they are after all.

Who knows, maybe this is already in and I just haven't experienced it yet.

Its quite hard to sneak up on a bounty you have tipped off...... but I like your thinking :D

This would be great if true unfortunately most of the top 5 have got their bounties from farming NPC feds so as to get no1 on the Galnet "scoreboard" ;)

they have been players for a while now.

I have killed quite a few players that have tried to hunt me. Most of my current bounty is from players right now ;)

I'm not sure how this works. I mean I know hiw it should work - you go and try to find the player.

But with the instance mechanic you might be on at the same time as a top 5 bounty, you could even be in the same system docked at the same station but in different instances altogether.

So correct me if I'm wrong but that just makes the Top 5 bounty board a leaderboard that you'd have a minimal chance of actually trying to claim that bounty.

No, they haven't. One of them has made fortunes robbing npcs and atomizing cops.

I accept all friend requests to help with that problem. That way people who are hunting me have a chance to find me

No probs mate, usually watch your stream when your been online and noticed you havent been around most likely due to the silly season. Have a good one mate and shall "Catch" up sometime when you get on :)

I'm trying to hunt that 5 but due to instances and earth time zones it might be too difficult except BlueFalcon who makes it easier for ppl :)
