Give the devs a break!!!

Hello fellow Commanders,

I want to say that I read the same topics all over again. Probaly this one too.. And its a short one.

Give the devs a break!! Wait till after the holidays and see what they come up with. THEY KNOW what you want by now.. And now we will have to wait.

Happy holidays and fly safe.

Thanks, but we already waited till beta, gamma then release. I still cant bounty hunt because half of the bounties arent registered properly. Its a job and they get paid for it.

Maybe FDEV should have waited until after the holiday season to release a buggy as hell game? just sayin'

Still having loads of fun though, just somethings irk me about the release :S

Completely agree with the OP.
.
Merry Christmas to all FDEV and keep time for your family !
.
And thank you for this great game, I'm on Holiday starting tonight and thank to you, i'll be able to enjoy my nights on my computer !
.
Have a nice break !

Probably a good life lesson in there for some folks. Don't crunch to launch before a holiday or weekend etc. It was likely super stressful and it could've waited.

This is their job and they were fully aware of what they was getting into by developing games. You are new to this right? Releasing...A lacking game before the holiday was going to cause drama's for them.
Merry Xmas.

I dont get any time off this week...

I do go on a 7 day vacation the 28th to the bahamas though. But at the same time i wanna stay home and hope for the possible big update that could make everything better.

From a release standpoint they didn't have a real choice, financial ruin to wait till after the holidays...
so best option they realistically had was get it playable then work out the smaller details as they go along.

By pressuring the devs on a holiday all you get it minor quality and depressed and unproductive Devs, hardly useful or a good business plan if you can avoid it. For those that don't care about work and design quality I seriously hope no one ever puts you in charge of a division of a program team over the holidays. Is it annoying for the players? Certainly. But I'd rather a higher productive standard and wait the 2 weeks to end of year.

I don't unders what everyone is moaning about, been playing since Beta and I'm still thoroughly enjoying it. Yes there are a few bugs here and there, but on a whole I thinks it's great.

oddly, you only prove my point, you hate it and it makes you bitter... if you HAD that break you would be a better, more dedicated to quality work member.

Give them a break or don't. They are already on break, lol. Seen many replies from Frontier in the last day or two, nope! They are enjoying the holidays while people are getting all twisted up over a video game...quite amusing, really.

I'm actually curious how much of the discussions from today until they return are just plainly ignored due to volume. I'm guessing that if you have a "big" issue then you'd be best voicing it after the Xmas break or after the New Year for your best opportunity at getting it noticed.

It isn't buggy though is it? I have no problems at all with the game.

hehe, I wouldn't go so far as to say it has no bugs and some code is missing that needs to be added.... BUT.. it is certainly playable

Good point

I absolutely agree with the OP.

I wish people would actually lighten up no matter what the day of the year it is. In this regard I'm often my own worst enemy, but I guess the silver lining (if there is one) is that most of the time I realise I'm doing it and I feel ashamed about it after the fact. The trick of course is to avoid doing the fact in the first place. I'm working on it ;)

Anyway, if you buy into any of the seasonal claptrap, have a peaceful one. If you don't, have a peaceful one anyway. Set your gripe cannons to safe mode for a while, berth up with your homies in your favourite coriolis, and enjoy the Onion Heads.

For what it's worth, I haven't had any problems with bounty hunting - I've been pinging pirates all morning and haven't had a single bounty claim fall through the cracks.

And I, too, am with the OP - this is Christmas, folks, calm down! It's not like they are abandoning the game after only a few weeks post-release - they have families, too. Give them the break that they deserve and get on their case again once January rolls around. :p If an aspect of the game isn't working for you, find something else in the game to do. Rest assured, FD will resolve the issues with the same vigor that they've displayed with the previous patches in time.

I am in two minds about this whole thing.

On the one hand, I am enjoying the game, but agree it released early and without some critical things. I have plenty of confidence FD will deliver.

On the other hand, Social Aspects and the time-to-market might be questionable from a game-play and feature perspective, but utterly understandable from a business-perspective.

I think the reviews are fair. "Great game, but holy moly, needs work here". I am personally glad they have reviewed the game as it "will be", rather than simply what they see right now.

I understand the frustrations, and the victories and glories.

I have never been in two minds about a game before this. It is still a quality title.

But darn, if Multi-player was number #2 on the important-list after moment-to-moment game-play, then perhaps the P2P model shouldn't have been chosen. If they fix it? Great stuff! I think other companies will take a look at what they achieve.

If they can't fix P2P game-play, then a lot of all the other stuff is incidental.

I wish them luck, I will continue to play, and am looking forward to the galaxy stories unfold.

See you out their in the dark, black, drink, Commanders. (hopefully ;))
