Want some excitement? Buy a Type-9!

Just bought a Type 9 and im done with it already.
Why, here is a funny storry for you guys so you can laugh with me:

Bought the big fat cow and took it for a spin right away with a full hold of goddies (496T) and a docking computer, no weapons (yeah i was naive:)
Arrived to the target station without harm and gave way to the docking computer. For my excitement that thing slammed it into the docking pad and started scraping it till i took control myself and showed it how its done.
That was some excitement watching if the downgraded shield will survive or not (from 6E to 5E for 32 more T of cargo) but seemed to be ok.

Ok now i rememberd tahat there is thing called interdiction in the world and this thing with its world champion slow turn rate will not escape it so i wondered if my usual submit and run method will work with this "awesome" 200m/s boost speed:) So i put on some guns too for this scenario, turreted, no hope of turning towards any other ship in this thing. This was prooven to be a wrong choice as i seen later.

So new round of goddies, 3Million worth of performance enhancers in the cargo bay. Exactly like the first one. This time interdicted right away the next system. Submitted, boosted, back to hyperspeed. Hm... That wasnt that bad.
Then again....
Just arriving to the planet, 10Mkm away and i submit as i see that no way of evading this. This time it was an ASP:((. No outrunning, shields down in 30 sec and took 30% of my hull till the feds arrived. No luck going back to hyperspeed as the kept coming back and the feds width him. Boost didnt helped. Lets fight then. Verry bad decision with turrets as i learned now. Of course the stupid feds gone into the line of fire and i got wanted with 36% hull and still no shield. Jump, Junp Jump. Finally managed and started towards an outpost where i arrived safely with 3 overshoots (im at work with keyboard/mouse while mostly using joystick at home).
Just rememberd, no big landing pad. Whaaaaa. I felt like crying, no way to get the bounty off, fuel for only 2 more jumps so every jump counts, and i know that as soon i get close to big stations somebody will scan me so the navi computer is out of question.
I assumed that if they scan me in a system wehere im not wanted they still shoot me because they see the bounty from somewhere else (if not please somebody confirm), so tried to boost into the station from faar away. Not the cold run way, the normal they still try to scan you but they cant finish because you are inside way.

At this point i knew im gonna die, of course im gonna die. The station is spinning and im gonna boost in with a T9 using mouse and keyboard with only 2 hour of practice. 3,2M ship insurance, 3 M cargo. It was pretty exciting (and foolish) though.

Lined up nicely. Lets do this. I got the line right. And you know that thing when you only see the station inside from like 2-3 km away. I wasnt worried about this because till now 99.999% of the time nothing came out when i gone in and im playing a lot since beta 2. But guess what. This time it was a nice Type 9 making its way out just as i wanna go in:))) LOL Tried to slow down but i knew that there is no turning away as the ship cant slow down in time or turn away.
So boost and then i remembered that i only have 36% hull. And now 0%...... I hope the other ship blown up too.

Wow this was fantastic. I had just enough money for insurance so now im trying to decide should i sell it or not.

Anybody else trading with this please tell me what do you do with the interdictions?

Btw, getting 600 bounty on my head (or bumping into the other t9) made my Allied status back to friendly with the station. ~5 missions and back to allied.

only thing that may help with turrets is to turn of crime reported against you, that keeps the mall cops out of your line of fire, but you won't get help

Yeah T9s aren't exactly good blockade runners, but story is good. Have rep. ^^

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]nope, but they DO make good blockades :p

and OP, i do remain convinced that the docking computer is a cousin of HAL 9000 ;)

This station thing bugged me. So i bought an eagle and shoot some sys authority ships, then ran away to the next system where im not wanted any more to see, if the big station shoots me after a scann.
No its not. They scanned me and wished me a good day after declaring im clean. So if the wanted status not displays somewhere, then they will not shoot you.
Cost me that 6Mill Cr to learn this. I feel really stupid now, but worth the fun in some way.

Haha,

yes... Those runaway, out-of-control turrets...
They fire on targets you'd rather not shoot, won't fire if you want to (and squeeze the trigger with a locked target and Weapon group properly assigned) - and when firing, they won't stop even when the target is way out of effective range. And nevermind their absymal accuracy after less than 2 seconds of sustained fire.

Their default mode (Fire at will) is just asking for a catastrophe like that to happen, that'll get you an entire System hostile and Wanted status in literally no time.
That's really the only thing they really excel at.

I've remarked on their issues and risks months ago, albeit to no success.
With the expected and 100% predicted results... Business as usual.

Yeah, i was through with that lesson, mine was set to fire target only. But still the stupid feds fly into the fireline.
Maybe i will try mine launchers when i have another 6Mill to spare:)

I never had problems with a station firing at me when i was wanted. Actually not even the guards fired at me when i was wanted due to something like that. I guess it takes a higher bounty and/or a lower faction such as unfriendly and below. But a bounty for friendly fire is something that should get changed anyway. A fine ok, but a bounty is a bit over the top.

Just noticed that also the bounty i had uncollected in alliance and empire is gone too. This raises the bill with another 400Kcr:(
I remember one time in beta 2 that when i died the bounty claim stayed. I guess they changed it back. Not happy.
