Hence: arguably. It depends on your definition of feature-completeness."Frontier has drawn a line under the game's lengthy beta at a point where it is, arguably, feature complete"
I mean, arguably it isn't.

lol...its not 'cinematic' because it runs at higher than 30fps.....just wait for it...
Very true! I found a lovely SCPQ quote that claimed that only 24FPS in a video game could be cinematic, and 1080 60Hz give his friend epilepsy.
As for reviews, I don't pay any real attention to them, but this was quite well thought out.
Much rests on Frontier's ability to build on these broad but somewhat shallow foundations.
I would reply my good Sir, but this marvelous detection device made out of something irony, will have to be doused with cold water, as to not burn a hole into my Owl decorated draperies.![]()
Yeah... I'm rather surprised.
"Frontier has drawn a line under the game's lengthy beta at a point where it is, arguably, feature complete"
I mean, arguably it isn't. You can't even talk to NPCs yet, and many of the features are a bit... unstable at the moment. Don't get me wrong; I bought the game fully expecting that it was going to be one of those big, growing projects, and that I wouldn't consider it "finished" on the 16th. But still. Compared to the many space sims that followed the original elite games... it really does far less at the moment. It just does it with a lot of style.
I think another thing that helps is that isn' t someone like Angry Joe doing the review. They are treating the title with the respect it deserves and are passing it for review to people who have experience with it and/or the type of games.
LOL, Angry Joe's "reviews"... just, lol. He's hilarious, in an inane way - ADHD monkey with a mic and cam raging about how he can't press mouse button.
I like how he starts
"In part, Dangerous is great because it is boring. This is a sim, committed to its own part-science, part-fiction set of rules and mechanics. It's not interested in being a piece of entertainment that you pick up and consume. "
It's very true of the game and one of his greatest strength IMHO
And it's very uncompromising (but rewarding)
Good review from PCGamer and at least the reviewer put some hours into ED and didnt just right it off after a couple of hours (like some people on this forum)I sat on the fence until the 15th of this month i was going to wait for the reviews but im so glad i didnt.Im loving it £35 for a game that as kept me off ALL my other titles..and with possible DLC to come i can see ED getting better and better

Don't like it? Then uninstall and play Tetris . . . simplesThese reviews just show that you cannot thrust them. How can a game with "somewhat shallow foundations" (and that's putting it mildly)
The sound design alone is worth at least 5 % IMHO ...
