Sorry but I'm moaning.

Look, I have no problems with being interdicted, I have no problems with people pirating and I'll happily play along and drop cargo.

But.. when the same idiot interdicts me SEVEN times in the space of 3-4 minutes its nothing but griefing.

Especially when I am carrying NO cargo whatsoever, six times I ran away and barely escaped and feel free to saying I'm a moaning idiot but no, 7 times in the space of a few minutes is nothing BUT griefing, especially when this joker can plainly see

a:- I have NO cargo
b:- my status is: Clean

Sorry but this just annoyed me so so much, like I said if it was once or twice or 2-3 different people it would not be an issue.
I can't say his name or I'll be modded but I will say he's not a very bright spark obviously, as he's still got the 'Backer xxx' name and he's the first person to go on my ignore list.

yeah you don't need to interdict that many times even if you practising with the interdictor sorry you ran into that guy S.H.A.D.O. :(

I just set up a cloaking device to deal with those peckers... ie a keybind that cuts my internet connection.

There's this "report player" option...

What ship have you got? You could always "boop"(ram) him if your in a massive ship, doesn't count as a kill so no harm done to your clean status.

I'm trying to figure that out now, I have a blocked players section but I can't see a way of adding someone to it.
It seems they have to be on your friends list to block them. Which is obviously disappointing. Someone griefing you isn't going to accept a friend request so you can block them.

The problem with that button is FD hasn't really defined what is considered reportable. Unless I missed that post. If they haven't yet, it would be nice for someone in FD to make a clearly defined list of things that are considered reportable offenses. For all we know, interdicting seven times might be considered a tolerable amount.

Until there is a list, everyone can just report anyone for anything. Could you image the "I was shot too many times" post.

wait...what?

thats a feature...very cool

Not really.
You can put them on Block, but all it does is 'reduce' the chance of being matched with them. If there are no other sessions in play, then you'll be matched with them still.
So it only really works in more populated areas.

He's probably taking a lot of hull damage from those failed interdictions, right?

They weren't failed, he got me and each time (apart from the last) I ran away. just

it seems you can only put 'friends' on the blocked list. lol

But if you fight them, both of you will go spinning even if he wins the interdiction fight, won't you?

Assuming he's in a more expensive ship, those fought interdictions will be costing him in the long run?

I'm not 100% sure how it works but you should try it out. Fight them all if you are in a smaller ship and if you're in a bigger ship...

Put the player on ignore and you will never see them again.

That's not guaranteed, as I understand it. Putting someone on Ignore just drops them to the bottom of the list of players that the matchmaking server will attempt to place in your shared Island instance. People on your Friends list go to the top, everyone else in the middle, Ignored people at the end of the potential match-ups.

So, it will work as a total block if there are a lot of other players in the area. If it's just you and the person you're trying to Ignore in that area of space, you'll still see them. Unless FD has changed it, and I haven't heard anything new about that.

IIRC, you have to use the Ignore feature while the other ship is still in view and can be targeted. At least I think that's how it works (haven't used it myself, just going from memory of forum posts here).

If it does work that way, it might be intended to prevent being able to block a Cmdr name just by hearing about it on the forum. You have to actually meet them in the game to block them. And it's not really a total block (see above).
