I seem to be unable to select a faction when I enter either Sorbago Capital Ship events. I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly. I am ranked outsider with the Empire. Do I need a higher rank? I have opened up the right menu and selected faction but it doesnt open up any options as to which side I wish to fight for. Any information to help me would be greatly appreciated.

I hate to bump this, but I waited 20 minutes before doing it hoping someone would reply. I would really like to get back in game lmao. I logged out until I know what I am doing wrong.
select the right hand panel, last tab. Very first option is select faction.
Maybe it could come up in the info screen top right in cockpit. FD should add a text line that is pulsating in the INFO panel top right when looking forward that says "choose faction in your options on the right screen) or something that sounds good. Think that would help a bit. I have seen many ask this question.
That the exact tab I went to. When I hit my space bar (select button) all it does is click and doesnt give me the option of selection anything. So it sounds like I have a bug then... Every time I select it, it does nothing. Just makes the clicking noise of being selected. Thank you for the reply.

That would make a lot of sense. I noticed there were not any conflict zones but the Capital Ships were still there. Thanks for letting me know.
@TannakaObi tyvm. That is what I was doing, but the faction choices were not being shown to me. Thanks for the reply as well
FSD into the conflict zone, like you would when you approach a station.
When you drop out of frameshift and enter the conflict zone, then use the right monitor, right most tab, top line. I don't think you can choose before you enter the conflict zone itself.
Tip:
You might want to jump in, choose a side, then have a look which side most of the real players are on, if you picked the wrong side, I'd jump out and back in again and choose the other.
