I think it would be fine if the entire studio was completely closed until the week after new years. People have family's and children and more important things than their jobs right now.

Agree, and frankly they did an awesome job with release, wonder how many overtime hours they pulled the past few weeks.

UK based company, quite a few places won't start work again untill the 5th-6th January. Not sure about FD themselves though, but after the whip cracking Braben has been giving the Devs, I think they are entitled to a couple of weeks break ;)

And quite frankly, I suppose they need the time off. Every single one of them. Every single day of it.

I just hope they have assigned some poor sod to keep an eye on the servers.

The 27th is a saturday and they don't work saturdays. My guess is they'll be back in the new year on the 2nd of jan

I do hope the majority of FD are sat at home, watching Chrimbo films, eating calorific loveliness, drinking festive fare and generally having a big ole sit off.

Maybe one or two of them are having a chortle reading this thread?

As previously stated they all deserve some well earned time off.

Hardly - 2nd is a Friday most offices don't reopen till the 5th ... Mind you I'm working most of next week although annoying the staff cafe has decided not to open on the Friday

whilst it would be lovely to see an update today, it's not likely as with any release there is risk of bugs requiring hotfixes/support etc and you just wouldn't sensibly introduce that type of risk now.

there could be some kind of server side flag as that would be lower risk but think it unlikely for the same reasons.

not sure really what OP is on about, I've been in since August and the game has evolved massively since then, it's way more polished than lots of other games and we know there is a lot of content still to be delivered as standard (in addition to premium expansions we know are planned)

I've voiced my concerns of this release and the delay of the mercenary content we were promised but yes I agree with others who have said this, it's Christmas Eve. They should be with their families over the next few days, I'm sure they've been working their butts off (just look at the frequency of updates we get), going home tired and knackered and not being able to spend as much time as they'd like with their loved ones (yes, just like a lot of us who work hard) and I have every faith they will keep working hard to keep improving it. But right now they deserve a break in my humble opinion.

Family is more important than videogames. Always.

And bolt for the door..... tonight my wife leaves me her 24" monitor and then my 3-monitor setup with IRTracker will be complete MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

It's only been a week since launch, most releases take that long (or longer) just to get servers to stand up for more than an hour at a time
The reason this is a stable and relatively bug free game is that they take time to get it right and not throw crapola at their customers

I'm sure I read somewhere (like eurogamer) that a big update was coming in January to do with multiplayer/co-op etc. So don't worry I am sure they haven't forgotten their to do list, it's probably just under a lot of tinsel & Christmas cake somewhere :D
