My god!...Solo, group mode and open play can't be the same universe!!!

If effecting regime change in systems is major plot point for ED - and I think it is given the storyline so far - and trading effects the power of factions - which I believe it does - then players will effect the future of the galaxy by pirating the trade of rival factions or blockading space ports? Is this not an intended game dynamic? Surely players picking different factions and therefore competing with each other need to be competing in the same universe?

and what?

Enano, you must understand that the primary reason you aren't seeing a lot of players isn't because of the singleplayer online mode, it's because FDEV haven't yet fixed their instancing problem with all the players in OPEN mode. There are THOUSANDS of players in open mode, you just don't see many because they aren't in your instance, Because instancing SUCKS at the moment. When they fix it you will begin to see a lot of players in known space.

Maybe, just maybe, it's because people don't want to be forced to engage in PvP? You're a griefer, we get it. You like flying around with your friends shooting up lonesome harmless clean players. Tough luck buddy, you'll have to work out your real life inferiority complexes in some other game.

Thanks for adding Solo play Frontier. We're enjoying it a lot! If you want us to play in the open world, add a nice PvP checkbox.

he is not a greifer, he is a pirate, a genuine roll in the game, I have no problem with solo play, I endorse it for those who aren't ready for the brutalities of open mode, but don't accuse him of being a griefer if you haven't have any evidence.

No, he is a griefer.

Normal pirates don't go whining about how other players want to play their own way and insult them by calling them carebears because said person disagrees with the other persons chosen play style.

The SECOND you start calling people who don't like to play the way you do a "Carebear" or throwing the word "" around, you're a griefer, pure and simple.

If he just shoots them and doesn't push them into station walls or equivalent, he's just a pirate that's upset about the lack of targets.
The amount how upset he is isn't taken into accoutn in this post.

I like a lot this game.....but it has a big problem.... solo mode, group mode and open play can't be the same universe, they must be different universes.
It's really absurd, play the same universe with people you can't see, without any risk.... i can play solo make alot money and go to open play to fight or not without any risk...
What happend with pirates roll??? nobody go to play traveling full of cargo with the risk to be killed for players pirates at open play....

Please, make solo play like a single player at another server, cant be the 3 modes at same universe.

If froniter don't do that, this game go'll to be played only for carebears hidden at solo play, and never will grow up like a real mmo with a real inmersion.

Sorry for my english, i hope frontier do that...

Hate to tell you this, but that's just not so. I hate dealing with the pirate players, because, frankly, the majority just want to blow your ship up rather than steal your cargo, or are too clumsy to just lower your shields to use a hatch limpet. I had planned to only play in solo or my own private group due to this. I've been playing for the past week and a half in Open Online. I do mostly trading right now, to be able to upgrade my ship as I go, and make enough credits to move on elsewhere and explore. Last night alone, I did several runs, one leg putting me at only 1k credits until I sold the cargo, which is so far below the insurance rate, if I got blown up, I'd have to go back to a sidewinder, because the loan wouldn't cover it. I got interdicted, but evaded it, I almost failed at it.

So, your statement that people will only play in solo or group, when hauling cargo, especially amounts that are huge risk, is just not so, if I do it, and I'm not a PvP player, then others do it too. And for the record, it was a player, not an NPC that tried to unsuccessfully interdict me. Your facts and conclusions are incorrect.

I think its great that FD have a solo mode for people like yourself. However the real issue is this business of 'always online'. Should the activities of 'invisible players' affect the outcomes in the open universe - I think not but I would like to know the reality of the situation.

Don't like it, don't play it. All Frontier "must" do is make the game they want to make. If that's not a game you enjoy, then find a different one.

Not quite - they are doing this so that they get paid for the next 12 months and more - the KS might have kept them going for long enough to float, but they are on borrowed time now. They need to demonstrate that what they have produced has a wide enough appeal. Foe a wider appeal, a less restrictive grouping policy makes sense - presumably ironman will emerge to satisfy the (significant minority) who think this game should have only a minority appeal.

Blockades will work provided the majority of trade comes from NPCs. Server side corrections can be made to influence the efficacy of non-open trading - remember the best way of dealing with spoofers is not to ban them, but to sandbox them so they think they're still trolling the fair players.

Frontier have access to the per-account play data in each mode. They will be looking at this, along with the data for how many backers from each stage are playing more or less each week. They will also be keeping this analysis very secret.

All my mates and me come to play elite, for open play, real universe, real risk, without thant we don play more than 4 or 5 weeks....and alot of people will do the same.....

Now only we can do is earn money to buy ships...we can't do nothing more...its empty of content for now, but if we can do pvp....we can do pirate roll...bounty roll...trades funiest...RISK, without this in the actual state of the game alot player will go bored in a few weeks...

Have you ever played the other 'Elite'? How Long did you play E:D? Where do you take such wisdom from? Im playing this since Premium Beta, since Beta nearly every day. Compared to others 'mmo's', which Elite is not, I have yet to get bored. All that you have mentioned above, is in the game.

Have you tried bounty hunting yet ? Did you Track down a player with the highest bounty, and disabled him? Sure not. It is helluva Hunt, could take several days, and needs some decent Equipment. So to you and the OP, Play this game few weeks, earn your wings, get experience and than come back.

Boah, how do I hate this whiners. At least those, just playing a couple of days, and judging this game.

Got to get this of my chest!

Right now, Open adds griefers, kill-stealing and docking queues to the experience and little else for most people. Solo is just plain better. I will move to Open when the NPC "greifers" I encounter become too easy.

There are always invisible players. There are people in open play that are invisible to you also.. People who have blocked you, people who's routers cannot see you. People who aren't in your instance etc.. etc.. The list goes on. Each sector of space only supports a max of 32 players all the others are spread out in separate instances. A solo player is in their own instance just like everyone else. It affects absolutely nothing.

Hi Enano123!
Just to suggest that you and your budies can make a group and if you look for danger can kill between yourselfs....
I play in a remote place, Open or solo it's the same because I'm the only one in the system... and fly without shield ferrying gold in a Lakon T7... Easy pick! Please look for me. But find me before I took the Python...
Good luck & Regards!

Not sure it does tbh.

A noobie question though: How do I recognize players? I never know whether it's an NPC ship or a player myself.
