Killed while in galaxy map.

Your suggestion of a visual "Under Attack" indicator in the galaxy map is valid, but at the same time you know it doesn't have one right now. So if you're going to spend ten minutes in it while floating out in space, keep your ears open!

And feel free to be astounded! :)

I find it astounding that someone was out in a mining belt, staring at the galaxy map for 10 minutes, and wondered why they got blown away! :)

Probably because nobody being reasonable would think you can get blown up without noticing just because you can't hear.

You couldn't hear it (headset off), and went to the galaxy map in a potentially unsafe area?

Honestly mate, there is no issue with the game here.

Keep headset on?
Don't open galaxy map in a potentially unsafe area?
Anything else I miss?

To be fair though. he has a point. Some people are just deaf, some people play with music etc.... Visual prompts would be welcome.

Not been attacked for a while when using UI panels but seem to remember they close automatically if you are fired on.
Couldn't they just make the map do the same?
But yeah opening a map can be a dangerous thing...always expect the unexpected it occurs when you least expect it

NOW I know it doesn't have one......... when it happened i didn't know that :)

If it's any consolation, you can see in the pic where I lost a fully tricked out Asp.
That was about 10 million credits at the time.
And it was my own fault.

it is always pretty risky looking at the galaxy map while flying. It would be nice if it was more integrated with the rest of the gameplay ie in a HUD display and it didnt feel like loading up a totally separate game

Perhaps i could get the missus to navigate for me?

Yeah because if a deaf guy was piloting a ship and looking at a map, he would have absolutely no idea his ship is being destroyed. Yep, that's not stupid at all.

The lengths people go to avoid acknowledging areas of improvement within the game are astounding.

What next?
Disabled signed ship hangers?
Wheel chair access in stations?
