Hydrogen fuel

Just thinking it would be nice if you could syphon hydrogen fuel from your hold to your fuel tank. Seems to offer a few advantages like boosting your jump range between refuelling. Helping out players who've run out of fuel. And if you could buy empty containers you could sell scooped fuel to a local station - giving a good revenue stream early game.
Thoughts? Or has this already been covered elsewhere?

It would certainly make sense. Perhaps a syphon module could be purchased enabling this to be possible if you have hydrogen fuel canisters in the hold. Also think the explosions should be bigger if you're carrying 100tons of fuel and your blown up!

I hope mining is not just limited to minerals and metals but everything else.

We should be allowed to harvest water, hydrogen, helium, argon, neon, xenon and all present in atmospheres volatile and sell these as commodities, The A.I should be involved to but with persistency, This is what I dream.

I know fuel scooping in gas giants is in the pipe. And it would seem reasonable to scoop other gases as well with something like an advanced fuel scoop with can be tuned to scoop specific gases.

I think it would be nice to have a transfer module to let you refuel other ships. Could be part of missions and USS too.

But as for transfer from your hold I don't think that should be possible- you replace the racks with fuel tanks for that.

Curious as to why not. If you want to take more fuel in your car you can throw a fuel can in your boot without having to convert it to a fuel tank. And whilst I realise spaceships aren't cars the ships in the elite universe are actually a more mature technology than cars are now. So that kind of versatility doesn't seem out of place from my pov.
