Pirating, PvP and Greifers

So the talk of pirating has come up in a few posts and i would like to clear a few things up, Pirating is not greifing and is a very esential part of the PvP of this game ive done some pirating and when you do it smart you dont get bounties and it can be very profiable, the people who seem to think of pvpers as greifers are the ones who start attacking said pirate as soon as they come out of interdiction, if you fire on us you will DIE.... so please wait for your FSD drive to power up and we will most def contact you and describe what you can do to survive this situation.

1. We will get very close as the closer we get the longer your FSD drive takes to Spool up.
2. If your in an adder please dont think you can take on a cobra you will most likely lose.
3. We will give you our demands be patient.
4. And most of all please co-operate we do not want to kill you. Altho we obviously will if need be.
5. Having to give up half your cargo is better then all of it And Losing your ship! Isnt it?

If your looking to becomr a pirate you need the following things

Cargo Hatch Breaker, Frame Shift Interdictor, Limpets dont forget thease they make your cargo hatch breaker work, and a cargo bay, Get very close to your target if they are trying to get away as being really close acts almost as a mass lock that takes forever for their FSD to charge when your 200km on their tail, and most of all follow the pirate code or guidlines or whatever. if you want ot be **** and kill people neways, well thats not my problem. "Some People Just Want To Watch The World Burn"

Also Pirating is not Greifing, And open play is scary be warned

:D " if you fire on us you will DIE.... " LMAO

oh hang on I missed this bit "And open play is scary be warned" ROFLOL

Well Its true, I personally am a highly skilled PvP pilot and it didnt take me long to figure out the mechanics of this games flight so i will outfly you and you will die. my name in game is same as here so if youd like to tets that out im usually in Everat or Faringa

Also open play is not that scary i was just being ammusing there lol, but seriously people cry all the time about this pirating thing and losing your ship full of cargo sucks, so i figured id explain it a bit and help them out lol

This one "pirate code" is the funny one.
Do we really need another thread on this?
Have you thought about getting a 'real' Job in Elite?
KB

Yes Pirate Is a job

Why, i bouny hunt for a bit make a few hundred thousand creds and then so some pirating for my lust for pvp, that is my job in elite and im proude to play a part that ppl hate so much

No, no, no, no. Wrong.

"Citizen, please make a donation. We will not hurt or harm you."

Wait 10 seconds.

Take out the shields and 3/4 of the hull in one swift stroke.

Watch him perform evasive maneuvers nervously for a while..

"I repeat: please cooperate and make a donation of half of your cargo. We will consider any attempt to flee as a move endangering your own safety"

Watch him boost away, dropping cargo and cursing.

Collect. ;)

I love these threads. Someone who is genuinely trying to play the game in a manor intended by FD is trying to explain why not all pirates are also griefers and as usual it deteriorates straight away into chaos.
.
Fact: Pirating is a valid game choice, its on the Advert.
.
I am not playing the pirate, maybe some other time, but I see it as it was intended. Unfortunately a lot of people don't really play pirate and just kill their mark and take the cargo.
.
A good pirate won't even fire a shot and worst case will only need to strip the victims shields and put on a limpit.
.
If someone attempts to Pirate me, i will fight back. This is my choice and I am forcing the pirate to work for his bounty. If he's better than me I will die trying to get away. However, I could just as easily yield some cargo and run. If he is so inclined he will take his prize and leave me to be pirated another day.
.
Every time a Pirate kills a mark, he reduces their cash flow and in turn reduces the liklihood they will be carrying more cargo on their next run for the next pirate to have a try for. Anyone can see that bad pirating reduces the opportunities for everyone.

To extend on what i wrote:

1. Yes there are pirates. FD crafted them with care. (cons-piracy!)
2. Yes it's alright when people hate pirates and display their discontent with piracy on forums. If you don't like that - don't be a pirate. Trying to control other people's thoughts (like PvP not equal griefing) instead won't yield meaningful results. Unless you're really good at it.
3. Yes, any attempt to create/apply CODE concepts of honorable principles on to regular criminals is laughable. Pirates usually end up hanged or caged, depending on jurisdiction, regardless of principles they invent. Unless they're very good at what they do.

I do very well and never been killed cause my pirate ways, eventually maybe. and "Moriarte" your talking about rel life this is a video game. keep that in mind, this does tend to lend itself to roleplay i.e. the code

Mhm. Just don't expect me to take it seriously. :)

I am glad you do well and enjoy the game. I am all in for piracy to exist, even though i am more of a bounty hunting type. I also understand why less capable players call this "griefing". Both pirates' claim of honorable restraint and the opposition's discontent make me laugh though. Can't help it.

Just something to consider before you hand over ha... Did he really say half? Oh well, he can be optimistic I suppose, although what he is going to do with 50tons of whatever when he is in a sidewinder deity alone knows but I digress. Ahem, before you hand over ANY cargo just remember that if you do then no crime has been committed and the bad man gets away scot free. Now you might say well half my cargo is better than death. Ok, maybe so. But if he shoots you he gets bounty on him. If he kills you he gets a much bigger bounty on him and his life becomes much more complicated. I know, it might not be much comfort and I have to pay the damn insurance man... again. But at least I will have my pride intact. Anyway, the choice is yours.

No NO this is not true in anarchy system i get away with murder and i can sit at the star and wait for you to jump in no bounty and then take the cargo stright to kini, i win and my "COBRA" is pimped to the teeth" i got rid of my sidy the first hour i played the game.

Oh well, if a trader is dumb enough to go to an anarchy system he deserves all he gets.

Piracy is just a hazard of the game and like most risks, can be managed. However if I ever get pirated (which so far hasn't happened, probably cause I'm in a viper) then expect a fight and if I can't beat you in a straight fight then I will ram you. But only because the Code told me to :)
