I really hope they have alot of content ready for the new year.

There is no way ill be able to actually enjoy the game for any longer than a month from now. Only way to really progress is trading.... whats hilarious is the traders still complain after they rake in a steady 1mil~ per hour.

Ive done all the playstyles enough to know that trading is the only way to go if you want something expensive. Its super boring and easymode, but the steady income coupled with the lack of risk (if you are not a noob and can dock without taking the whole station out) makes it better than anything in Elite right now. I bet the majority of Elite players are strictly trading and that makes me a bit irritated. I only guess because FDev seem to be giving more attention to trading in general considering the recent fixes since release. And if that wasnt the case, instead of the backwards trading fix we couldve maybe been given a Faction Fix.... anyways, thats all conspiracy.

Want to explore? Well, once youve seen one Ice planet youve seen them all. And it gets rather boring after you pass 500,000Ls~ in Super Cruise.

Want to be a miner? I guess... its just as boring and easy as trading. And if they ever bring in drones for scooping this will probably be the FOTM mega cash play style until something about it is nerfd.

Conflict Zones are a joke. A very bad one. 3k per kill no matter the ship? LOL there are ships that sustain way over 3k+ in hull repair simply jumping to the location.

Want to be a hunter? Sure, just be careful of the enemies faction even if they are wanted. There are assassination missions but they are not always available and its most likely an Anaconda fitted exactly like the one you killed a day before. Extraction sites used to be the place to go for bounty hunting... but now with the faction problems and especially the police behavior, it aint that great (same with NAV points and belts). Only other option is USSs, but you dont always get enemies. You either get some scoopables which you probably wont pick up, a bunch of clean NPCs, and then lastly some wanted people. Factor in Super Cruising around and especially the time it takes get to a USS without overshooting... you might as well be trading if money is what you are wanting.

Want to be a Pirate? You could be. Alot of scooping involved and you most likely wont get all the loot in time before it hits 0% and explodes. Also unless you want to lose access to 1/3rd of civilized space you are only going to be pirating Independent or Anarchic space. Ive only done it in anarchic space because i dont want to be a "bad guy" for when they bring in Wingmen since your actions do give a reputation and i dont want to be stuck hiring criminals who could spazz out whenever i have a hold full of good loot. I dont really want a bounty on me period if its avoidable.

Lack of content. Dont tell me i "dont get it" either because everyone whose played before Gamma is thinking it too.
/rant?

There is certainly the contents, ready to be added ... and invoiced

;)

I follow recently this forum, became a fan of this game and I think it amazing.

I was watching some videos where developers talk about 'walk in the stations' - as little understand spoken English, (here can translate into my language), ask a question, you could list here some of the innovations that are already planned for the coming months?

don't speak for me plz thx.
conflict zones rake in decent money for me, fast? no, but reliable. i'll grant you that that payoff should adjust to ship size.
pointless killing a anaconda for 3 k when you can kill an eagle/fighter for same payout.
i made decent money exploring also. fast? no. low risk though.
so tbh you strike me as someone who feels the need to be in the biggest ships ASAP, i don't play that way and i doubt i'm alone.
i'm in no rush to "complete" this game.

edit:
oh i should clarify i've been playing since alpha 3.

edit 2:
negative rep proto? that's a bit immature if you just disagree with my opinion.

Well said OP (rep for you).

I love the premise of this game, the concept is staggering and the game is beautiful but... everything becomes a chore after a while because I am not happy with the ships I own and I ache to own the big ones. For that, one needs serious credits and for those credits it takes some serious mind numbing grinding.

I tried trading rares and conventional trading too and after a while it because a chore, I felt like a glorified Yodel courier.

I tried fighting, and bounty hunting and it just became a chore too because I have combat flight Sims for my fighting urges. I bought this game for exploration and trading but right now, the incentives to trade and explore are so low as to be akin to a minimum wage job.

For a while, I fooled myself into thinking that I really enjoyed mining but no - after the 300th scoop I was leaking from my ears even when the ores were rich end plentiful.

i've been playing since Beta and I'm having a blast progressing through exploration. So not "everyone who has played before Gamma" is thinking the same, sorry.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for a mega new year patch. Some people thought gamma would be that. Some even thought release would add a lot more content.. was never realistic.
They don't work that way, as we've seen over the whole development. They do make steady progress and deploy new features sooner rather than later. If something isn't in the game now, it's not being saved up for a monster patch - it's not ready.

Many new features and content will come, but they will come steadily over a period of months, not with a quick hit in a matter of days or weeks.

Yeah, it kind of feels like the finished the skeleton of the game, but never added the meat and organs. It's an extremely shallow experience. Enjoyable for a while, but eventually boring.

Played since alpha and god knows I've done it all. Thats nearly a year of play to some of you young uns :)

I utterly agree the game needs ... No its crying out for content, depth, engaging gameplay, and to live up its claim of being a MMO. It has the beauty it has the sound, I sincerely hope they will rework some of the clearly placeholder mechanics we currently see.

Anyone who disagrees? I sincerely hope after a years play you feel the same then as you do today. Lobotomies don't come cheap you know but grinding this is certainly getting me there :)

Played the game since day one on Alpha 1.0.

Still having tons of fun and plays the game pretty much every day since it went into Gamma 2.

And no...I'm not exclusively trading. Actually, trading is really only something I do as a minor side active while doing other things.

I'm also not at all bothered with getting hold of a bigger ship anytime soon...eventually I'll go for an Asp, but I'm in no hurry. :)

..

Does any of this mean I'm satisfied and don't want more?

Heck no! :D

I am not saying the game is complete, in fact there is still much to add to make it complete, but calling it "without content" is just plain ignoring 99% of the game.

Yes if you want to make money as fast as you can, go trading. This is how it is in almost every game with an at least somewhat realistic economy, because you can increase your current money by +X% each trade, which scales perfectly with every additional credit you get. But having tons of money isn't everything, unless you are that kind of endgame-rusher that just wants the biggest and baddest ship and equipment.

Have you been to the Sol system yet? Have you found secrets while exploring? Have you tried to fight a specific faction to change the balance of power in your current system? Have you tried to kill an (non-noob) Anaconda in a Sidewinder? There are so many things to do in a sandbox game, that only your imagination is the limit.

I've been playing since August, Beta 1, and I've had a Cobra since just before Gamma 2. The game may be old for that one Alpha backer up there, but I'm still absolutely loving it. I am in a BIT of a rush to get an ASP becuase I hear so much good about it, but if necessary I could stay in my Cobra forever. It's amazing fun to get experience and start fighting bigger ships. I remember when I would fight nothing bigger than my own ship, and now I kill Elite Anacondas pretty routinely for those assassination missions. hell, I'm looking for a good PvP if anyone's interested (That is, if you're wanted and close to Imperial space). I still have an absolute ton of upgrades that I haven't bought and experimented with, and I'm very happy to grind away at this gem.

On your statement with traders: GOOD. That gives pirates someone to steal from, and I actually WANT to be robbed by a player just for the fun aspect.

Next, do you have goals? I'll tell you mine.
-To interdict someone and never let that middle circle go from orange to blue.
-To get an Anaconda fitted with nothing but cannons and PD, and call it the "Queen Anne's Revenge" (My name is a little shoutout to Edward Teach, AKA Blackbeard.
-To kill an Elite Anaconda - CHECK!
-To get a Lakon Type 9 with that ~512t cargo bay and haul nothing but Bauxite.
-To kill Cmdr Braben.
-To actually trade with those USS Lakons that ask you for certain goods.
-To become an Imperial Viscount.

I'm loving the game to death. Anyways, Have fun and fly safe!

Bounty hunting with an interdictor is pretty fun, but you can't do it with anything above a cobra. The guaranteed hull damage puts a hard cap on it. Unless there's some sort of hidden aspect to high grade FSDs that reduce hull damage?

New player here ,i burned the game in less than a week , there is no progression there is no need to get anything better than cobra/viper unless you are trade focused , there is no content, anacondas elite can be killed in a sidewinder if you are good , there is no next step , why i would want to get a phyton? if i can do everything on my viper or cobra? no sense.

This game could have endless posibilities but now is just a hull , a great one , but at the moment is a big hull emtpy and lifeless , combat is so much funn , but i would love to do some pvp , but... ohh wait , game is broken by desing to avoid pvp...

MMO they said , MSO( Masive single player online) it is

Just look at the major releases and how much content was added. I would expect that the tempo will slow down some had they will not be in crunch mode anymore. Figure thirty percent less per and I for one will still be very happy. I am expecting to see the game fleshed out from the framework that it is now. Just go read the design docs.
