My god!...Solo, group mode and open play can't be the same universe!!!

As it was advertised as an open world where players can interact and shoot each other and I really thought this game would be really fun to play and all I do in E.D. is doing bounty hunting of NPC but am starting to get bored as hell. Trading is not an option, missions are dumb and all I want is to kick some asses on the server.

Started trough beta and in Beta there were more fights and more people with their bounties on their heads then after release.

Paid for beta and all future expansions and it costed me about 100 EUR and all it did was having fun for few days and now no fun.

I would suggest chasing down the top leaders on the bounty board. You'll need an interdictor and a wave detector...but once you find them I bet you'll be extremely happy with the level of PvP they will offer you! Otherwise, start building a bounty and become hunted yourself...come on the boards and declare where you'll be so people can find you without spending time hunting you!

There is an infinite number of NPC's. Why don't you go kick some of them? If you can personally reduce the NPC count of the Elite universe to zero - you'd be an absolute hero to many simple, hardworking traders in their unshielded Haulers. They'd pay you money for that!

For example the test in Lugh.

If a group decides to overthrow the control in certain location and another group wants to prevent this from happening.

Group 1 plays in open and controls the traffic.
Group 2 plays in group after noticing this and spoils their operation without them having a way to counter it with violence.

Blockades just don't work in this game.

There are only 36 people per instance. Blockades weren't going to work anyhow, and people playing in Solo makes no difference.

I love ED, the only modern game to elicit the tears of greif'ers. If u don't like the system, well plenty of other games; STOP trying top ruin mine.

Exactly. But they won't do this, because they most likely won't be easy kills. They would rather kill unarmed traders instead...

I think coward is the word I'm looking for?

And that's a good thing - if I really wanted a game where players dictate where I can go and how I do it, I'd play EVE.

I've played EVE for years, it's a great game - however it's quite toxic and in places downright nasty. Why is it everyone seems to be hell bent turning Elite Dangerous into a first person EVE? Seriously if this is what you want, try Star Citizen - let Elite be Elite.

Its far from everyone, its actually a very small, yet very angry and very vocal minority that want that, and cry as they may, they aren't getting it.

The truth is if they made an open pvp only server it would be far more popular and make far more money.

Even though it would not affect the original servers up now so many are terrified of this happening for the sole reason it will make the server they are playing on look like the easy carebear version .

Even though it would in no way affect how they play and will bring in far more revenue for thier game they will never stop arguing .

It's a sad showcase of closemindedness .

And if there was a working mechanic for pirates it would be your tears flowing here.

Piracy works very well at the moment.

A certain Commander J Atomic Number: 27 pirated me a while back - it was an awesome experience. He tore me out of supercruise, demanded I jettison my cargo, and told me in no uncertain terms that if I were to deploy hardpoints or charge up frameshift that I would be destroyed.

Of course I jumped out of there as quickly as possible and gave him nothing - but it was a delightful situation, got the blood pumping :)

Thx for the tips, got a nice fitted eagle and will try to do some piracy in sectors am in, won't be earning any money and but will earn some respect. Here comes fear :)

Show me ONE mmo that also provides PVE servers where the pure pvp servers are attracting many people. Just one. EVERY MMO that also provides PVE has only a very minor PVP population. PVP players are ALWAYS the minority, they are just really loud.

Did you have to fight your way out or were you able to just leave?

Yep. From what I remember there were only 1 or 2 crowded PVP servers in WOW. Most of the PVE ones were rammed and had queues.

Neither - I had to maneuver. He was skilled and had good weaponry - knocked my shields out in no time, launched a limpet and it attached in the final second of my frameshift chargeup.

I would have actually stayed and fought, but I was on the last five minutes of a delivery mission worth a pretty penny.

But solo is no easier than open.

Sorry but i have to disagree, in open mode people might have to face off agaisnt human players who are roleplaying as either bounty hunters or pirates ( although so far i have found this quite rare in online mode sadly ) and they tend to be a lot more skilled than npcs so in online mode you are more likely to lose cargo/ship than playing in offline mode just with npcs, so i do consider being able to make a ton of money without human bounty hunters/pirates in your offline game and then buying a super duper multi billion credit ship and THEN going online a bit of a cop out, that is why i think that if you start a new commander in offline, all your assets in offline should stay in just that mode, sorry, i know i will get flak for having said it but it is just my opinion.

Why be so scared of an open pvp server then that would not affect you in any way.
