System authority attack

Anyone else been attacked by them for no apparent reason? I was patrolling the nav beacon in Dahan and had already shot down a few wanted ships when it happened. I'm pretty certain I didn't hit anything I wasn't supposed to and I was not carrying any cargo.

Just wondered if it was a known issue? Would ticket it but can't be 100% sure someone didn't take a stray hit which would obviously be the reason, although that said they should turn red on the scanner if I did surely?

Yes, it has happened to me few times. I made sure I shoot wanted only and I will get a message "Die freebooter" from the police before they start shooting.

Yes and it's very annoying especially when that happens at beacons and resource sites in anarchies and the ships are feds. I think it may have to do with the fact that faction reputation still needs a lot of work.

That's what I thought.

And I'm just not good enough with my Eagle to take on four of them...

I do remember one time when all four got taken out by a Wanted Anaconda.

This has happened to me quite a few times now. Just now I was engaging an Elite wanted Lakon with 2 Elite wanted sidewinders. When the police arrived I was relieved to get some help but they immediately said "die freebooter" and engaged me instantly. All of them turned red.

I have a hunch that this isn't meant to happen, but we'll see.

I think if they are all part of the same faction, they will attack you (the enemy). I could be wrong but I have seen this same thing happen to me many times.

Happened to me today. Was bounty hunting at GD 219 Nav Point, happily shooting scumbags .. when suddenly all the security forces turned red. I'm quite sure I didn't hit anyone of them, I wasn't wanted and I did not have a bounty.
Bailed out to the station, came back, everything was well again.

You are correct sir.
If you attack the majority faction in the system, wanted or not, police will aggro you.
It seems though at they are not that aggressive. I can safely hunt at Medium security Nav beacons and ignore them in an Asp. Even dangerous police will fire a few shots and stow their weapons, pretending to be attacking. Novices are just barely scratching me.
