You ain't seen the universe until you've flown an ASP

I love the ASP Explorer, it's mostly glass cockpit offers a great field of vision, plus there's plenty of hardpoints to mount your firepower onto! A 31 ly jump range really means the ship lives up to it's name. I'm going to grind up all the systems, and head towards the centre of the galaxy in it. An advanced system scanner, a detailed surface scanner, and all the firepower I can muster. Never know what the devs might have hidden out there.

I might even get to meet a Thargoid! :)

P.S. I should be getting an Oculus Rift sometime this year, touring the galaxy in that, and an ASP with it's amazing all round view will be fun.

I headed for the center of thje galaxy in a Lakon 6 (the "Stella Artois") with an advanced scanner and no weapons not so long ago, hoping to see a black hole or a pulsar. She was perfectly set up for long distance traveling but two days (two days real time) into the trip I seriously began to lose the will to live... I eventually turned around and headed back to Sol with a new understanding of just how vast the galaxy is (beyond imagining)

I will wait until I have a larger ship before I try that again - good luck on your travels, pack a lot of books commander or find insanity waiting at your shoulder :D

Since you're mentioning the ASP and field of vision, if I may ask; does the ASP have a centered view? As in, is the orange dot in the middle of the ship or somewhere off to the side like in, for example, a Cobra?

It's pretty centred, as far as I can tell.

Ha, exploring can't be any less boring than trading runs.

Buy it, undock, hit random idiot who can't fly, frameshift, avoid interdiction, land, watch auto dock, sell it.

Hang yourself... or...

Watch Netflix the whole time you're flying :D

Elite Dangerous needs the ability to play youtube playlists, and netflix on the users flightscreen :D it's how I'd do it in real life (you know if space travel like this exists)

Actually thats Pretty much how I play. We need that FEATURE! (Utube on Centerscreen!)

The pilot's chair is in the center, for the Asp. The copilot's chair is actually BELOW the pilots chair.

Exploring can get as tedious as trading, it's just slightly different.

Rinse and repeat until you reach your destination. I prefer it for the views you can find, and the places you can say 'I've been there!'.

It has a great view. I don't like the design of the canopy frame bars, but the overall view makes up for it.

I just wish the smaller combat-oriented fighters had better view area. Some time after WW2 and the Cold War, it seems that spaceship designers forgot how to make bubble canopies for maximum eyes-on-target ability. We're back to the 'ol Brewster Buffalo where we can't see anything behind us. Come to think of it, the Buffalo had better side and upwards view than most ships in this game.

/end air combat nerd rant

I love the Asp too, but I have an issue with it at the moment. Well, not so much an issue with the ship, but with the graphics inside of it. The shadows are super bugged out. After coming from a Cobra, watching all the shadows swoop across the dash looked so cool. But next time you're in the Asp, watch the shadows on your front console. They're all jacked up and flickering.

Ticket it.

Just under 6 million in Jameson Memorial (Founders World) and about 6.5mil in other systems.

Be careful at Jameson... Prices aren't wrist they seem. I bought my asp there and the full 6.6m was deducted. I was sad... Then I took in the view. A very merry Christmas indeed :D
